Hi there. I'm Khairul. I used to build model aircrafts before getting bushwacked by my bro into miniatures wargaming.
Do you have a real store I go to too? Am an old fashioned guy and prefer seeing things first hand. Plus it'd be nice to look at kits again

im currently working on a classified project which i started 6 months ago and your timing is great. i am looking to create a stained/weathered look for primarily white color miniatures. would be awesome if you could advise me which pigment would work the best.

also am interested in the 'absolute chipping' thing. how does it work btw?

Haha... so both of u "bushwacked" each other...

It depends on what kind of stains/weathered look that you are trying to achieve. Black smoke pigments are good for achieving black exhaust effects and also streaking. There's also light dust pigments that can achieve an overall dusty look. Then there are mud and rust coloured pigments too. To make the pigments adhere permanently to the surface of an object, I recommend you using the pigment fixer. You just need to brush the pigment fixer over the pigments at the end of the process.

For stain and weathered effects for white color miniatures, you can also try the neutral wash or grease and oil stain mixture.Once dry, the grease and oil stain mixture will have a slightly glossy effect to replicate real like grease and oil stains.

im looking for a rust look. something like the ork in the pictures in your 1st post.

can you do me a solid favour by listing down the stuffs i would need to get from you as im sure i need more stuffs than the pigments alone. also where can i get it from you or do you prefer postage. any is fine by me.

This is what I recommend you to get based on what the author of the article is using:

1. Rust & Smoke Pigment Set (This set contains 6 pigment jars whereby 4 is used by the author)
2. Dark mud pigment (as used by the author)
3. Light Dust pigment (as used by the author)
4. Pigment fixer (to permanently fix pigments to the surface of an object)
5. Standard Rust Effects (as used by the author)

Note: I do not have single pigment jars for Europe Dust and Russian Earth. These 2 pigments are included as part of the Fresh Mud Pigment Set and Sand & Earth Pigment Set. Sorry Bro However, you can substitute Europe Dust with Dry Mud.

Optional
1. Thinner for Washes (used to expand and blend pigments. However, you can also use rubbing alcohol as what the author did)
2. Oil & Grease Stain Mixture (this can be a good substitute for the "greasy wash" that the author used. But it also depends on your miniature's need).

Haha... no problem. For a basic setup, just get the Rust & Pigment Set together with the Pigment Fixer will do.

Yup, the set comes in a box like the picture in my first post, but no brushes. The brushes on the cover is just for decoration. Hehe...
