For some reason, the images didn't show on my screen. Riptide-wing

Bought a Longstrike from Alvin, immediately finished him when I came back from Sarawak (which is today). Took the easy approach which is about 4 hours, so it's not top notch quality.

This thing took me a couple of weeks to finish. Highlighting on large models has become optional for me now. Don't own an airbrush so this was difficult to paint, with all the details I only focused on the ones that were eye catching.

Next would be continuing the stealth suits I've stopped painting half way, smaller models now seems like a blessing to paint now.

I've done it on the devilfish but it's not that apparent since the exhaust hole is deep, the shadow would considerably dim down the glow effect.

Did I say I was doing my stealth suits? Must have meant piranhas. Hahah.
Just finishing them since I'm using in games again. The left one is a redo while the other two were newly painted. It's like everytime I do the "flame" thing it's always different, not really consistent.

They are alright, you can field a maximum of 3 squadrons of 5 piranhas, that's 15 piranhas, just about 750 points at base. The problem would be that it's a rather expensive army to play. You would also have to field a couple of sky rays to compensate the lack of pathfinders.

Usually they are just used for blocking, harrassment and contesting objectives so you don't really need a lot of them.

they are ok but personally I wont take fusions with them tho. Bit too expansive just to shoot one shot.. As it is its quite ok for just being plain annoying, the unit can fly up then detach all the drones making a small 6 drone unit on its own while the piranha moves and starts hosing down the enemy troops.

My other take which I have a list for but unlikely to see action is the seeker version. Ever since the new dex seekers work much better now since you don't need to use marker lights to fire them. You can zoom this squad of three up a flank and fire off all 6 seekers hitting the sides or even rears of the opponent tanks before using the drones and burst cannon to drop enemies. As cool as that sounds the cost 168pts is pretty expansive for 3 vehicles 213 with disruption pods for that +1 cover... 168 gets you 12 firewarriors and 1 cadre fireblade which is waaaaaaaaaay more deadlier

If you take a lot of them the disruption pod isn't that necessary. The important thing to consider is what theme your army is like. If it's mechanised army, I'm sure players would prefer spamming piranhas than firewarriors.

Or else you can literally spam both. 72 Firewarriors and 15 fusion blaster piranhas is still well within 1850 points so you can still put other necessary units in. And also additional 30 gun drones.

Tau is soooo confusing. I need more games against them.

Building and painting took almost 4 days. Pre-posed models take a lot lesser time but since this is Farsight I'm dealing with, I had to make it a bit more extraordinary in terms of giving some extra conversion and unique painting scheme for it. So most of the time spent was thinking how to paint this relatively bigger Crisis Suit.

This kitty was so terrified of the painting I've done on it that it ran away later.

After the weekend, I would straight up be building and painting Shadowsun. I'm very eager to see how they look together once I'm done with her too. And that would also mean I have to paint my Stealthsuits too, bummer.

It was not difficult but the highlighting is always repetitive to do. I'll put off the drones that comes from her kit since I don't think I'll use them any time soon.

I think I missed getting the shoulder part of a bitz so I replaced with a, skull. Not too out of place hopefully.

They look great together. FYI, they are not literally the Farsight and Shadowsun, so fluff wise is all good.

PS: Happy new year, fellow hobbyists everywhere. Smile
