Gonna juggle this project and my DE Coven, as I'm not sure how to play my DE at the moment.

Basically, I just wanted to convert Grey Knight Terminators into Chaos Knight Terminators. That's all there is to it. So what follows is a really really really unimaginative list Very Happy

No transport = very slow moving terminators, against shooty armies, you'll get outshot if you rely on your dreads.

My suggestion since you want terminators, a Draigo, 2 squads of Paladins with Narthecium and 2 Psyflemen Dreads.

Much tougher but still slow. Or instead add 2 stormravens, since they are not counted towards the "half units in reserve" limitation rule, you can put your draigo and paladins in reserve with the flyers.

I would say that it's not bad la, since Grey Knights are very shooty, they can just sit and shoot without an issue.

yea I second alvin, this edition does balance the foot armies and mech armies.

Those termies may be walking but they will be in your face when they arrive. Hey dann is this for 1750 right?

actually, i can reserve all 3 termie units (with the Brother Captain) and keep the Dreads on the board.

Each Termie unit that deepstrikes need only be 12 to 18 inches away from the enemy to cause maximum damage, and I can assault next turn if the termies aren't wiped out.

Yup this is for 1750pts, highly doubt I can finish it anytime this year though hahaha...


As for Draigowing... nawwww...

That's more than half of your army in reserve, so...

As I've seen the problem with GK is their model count and range, not their firepower. The less units you have, the concentration of fire against you gets higher. To deal with this problem, people take henchman troops, tougher units or more mobility.

With the change in power weapon rules, you will see more people taking AP2 or less weapons more which is likely a shooting weapon.

that's true, so 29 men in reserve is not possible.

however, let's not forget the virtues of Combat Squad:

Good catch, however ICs are counted separately whether or not they joined together with a unit (pg 124).

Unless you combat squad another terminator unit, sadly you can't.

I wouldn't recommend deepstriking as a tactic for GK, very risky. Nevertheless, you'll know what's the ups and downs when you try your list la. I'd say this list is [edit] not super competitive, more fluffy, which I encourage. Smile

[Servo-skulls - are nice, but look at the dark side of it, move within 6" of it, it goes poof and can only be outside of enemy deployment zone.]

honestly, it's just a conversion thing Very Happy i just wanted to kit-bash a GK termie box with a Chaos Knights box and see what I can come up with. But since I'm gonna put some effort into it, I thought i'd make a list and get myself motivated to build an army for my conversion efforts.

If the new CSM codex allows me to make an all Chaos Termie list, then I'd go for it hehehe.

i was thinking scouts cuz i can make them 'servitor-snipers' - scouts pretty much got the same stats as servitors anyway Very Happy

I didn't overlook tacticals, I just thought scouts would fit better.
