First try. Some suggestions to improve it my friends? The idea is just to drop the pods with the command squad, tacticals and the Termies turn 1 for Deathwing Assault as the banner gives extra attacks and Ezekiel gives extra Weapon Skill to all the dudes around them. The extra pod is to make sure what i want comes in and it will drop empty.

Actually I think that using a Drop Pod army with lots of Veterans and Command Squads will be quite awesome. But converting them will be too much work.

I dont like to spam lar haha. Not my style and dont feel like playing belial, azrael or sammael. I do like the drop pod idea though.

Also had some progress on painting thanks to the White Dwarf haha. It'll probably be the final scheme for the tacticals but if you all have any suggestions on how to improve it then please give me some advice haha.

The thing is, Ezekiel doesn't have invul sv, so your rolls when choosing your spells must be extremely lucky in order to get the ones that can protect him (no Biomancy spells suck Mad ). Otherwise, in cc, he'd be dead.

To me, he'd combo really well with Azrael + Command Sqd. Not only he can benefit from 4+ invul, he'd get the FnP as well.

P.S: He still gets the useless mastercrafted bolt pistol, though it is no longer a named weapon like the previous The Deliverer lol Razz

@CikguDin: In CC you could just use the Command Squad as meatshield and for challenges either the Company Master or Company Champion can accept so he is somewhat safe.

It does sound like a good combo tapi the AP3 makes it hard to consider spending so much points inside.

Later the mastercrafted bolt pistol gives you a precision shot then you know haha.

@Alvin and Spunkybass: Thanks haha. It looks a bit better in photo than in real life cause my hand isnt that steady so the lines are a bit not straight but hopefully i'll improve after finishing the entire squad.

So....got my first game in 9 months against greenster92 and it feels good to play 40k again!

My list was

Belial
Librarian - Mastery Level 2, Space Marine Bike, Power Field Generator
Ravenwing Command Squad (5) - Apothecary, Grenade Launcher
Deathwing Terminators (10) - Chainfist, Two Cyclones, Sergeant with TH/SS
Tactical Squad (10) - Plasma Gun, Missile Launcher, Flakk Missiles, Sergeant with Power Axe
Land Speeder Squadron (2) - HB/Typhoon
Contemptor Mortis Dreadnought - Twin Linked Lascannons, Cyclone Missile Launcher
Aegis Defence Lines - Quad Gun

His was roughly
Dante
Sanguinary Guard (5) - Power Fist, 2 Infernus
Sanguinary Priest with Termies
Terminator Squad (5) - Cyclone
Tactical Squad (10) - Plasma Gun, Plasma Cannon
Assault Squad (10) - Two Melta, Sergeant with Infernus and Drop Pod

Deployment was Hammer and Anvil and Mission was The Scouring

So long story short his dice rolls were really bad...his Termies died from mass plasma from the Ravenwing with him not even making a single invuln or FNP save. His meltaguns from the assault squad only manages to immo the dreadnought before I wiped them. He deep struck dante in the aegis and one died to dangerous terrain. He rolled one and then one again but he did mention that it was kinda impossible for that to happen haha. Stormraven scatters TL Plasma Cannon on my deep striking terminators even with rerolls.

He concedes at the end of my turn 2 as he only has Dante, Priest, 9 Tacticals and Stormraven left. I had only lost 4 tacticals, a speeder and a biker.

Well.....what can I say other than his dice rolls were awful. It didn't help that my Bikes saved nearly everything he shot at them. I think after that game I would need to really get my rules in order again. Forgot quite a bit and after watching the game between Alvin and Jo I feel that I would get tabled by them. So I will probably need some help on bettering this list? Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

@greenster92: My dice aren't rigged. Everyone who has seen how bad they are can tell you that. They seem to only work for FNP rolls for Bikers though Very Happy

@jo: not everyone has your luck lol

Thinking of changing up the Land Speeder loadout to Assault Cannons cause I don't have any Melta in this army so its a bit hard to take out AV13+. No I don't want to play MSU 3 man Ravenwing with 2 Meltaguns. Not my style haha.

Had a game against cikgudin on Saturday and it was quite fun even though I lost

I was playing the same list above but with a Dakka Predator added in cause I didn't have a list for 1850.

Deployment was Hammer and Anvil and the mission was Big Guns Never Tire. He gave me first turn which made the game much closer than it was supposed to be as my Termies Deathwing Assault and shot his DP down to one wound and my army killed at least 10 Bloodletters from a unit of 17.

His rolls were also really bad as he whiffed with quite a lot of his shots and attacks but at the end it started leaning his way after a long combat between Belial and Termies and his Bloodletters,DP and Bloodthirster where only the Bloodthirster was the only survivor with 3 wounds. I promptly shot down but it allowed the rest of his army to start applying pressure and eventually I conceded as it was late and kinda a certain lost after he killed the Pred and my Ravenwing Command Squad.

There was one thing which I forgot which could have changed the game my way which was my Ravenwing had Hit and Run cause I failed to assault Huron and Oblits after rolling a 3 for charge distance. He then charged my bikes and in a prolonged combat Oblits were just that much better but overall it was a good game so thank for the game cikgudin. He is one of those players who just has my number cause I only ever remember beating him once or twice at most from all the times i played him haha but I'll get you next time!
