 Chaos Space Marines review

Some of my thoughts after reading through the codex.

- Berzerkers are still overcosted compared to Death Company.
- For the point costs, the fiends are not really worth it. Maybe the Forgefiend equipped with 3 S8 Plasma blasts. But that's only 24". And is super expensive.
- Helldrake vector striking at only S7 is nothing to shout about.
- Emperor Children or Death Guard themed army would be more playable than the rest. Thousand Sons is a bit hard since precision strikes/shots can snipe the champion.
- Daemon prince is sad. At first I thought can arm him with the Axe of Blind Fury (Daemon Weapon, AP2, +2S but -1 to WS and In) and take wings for him. Then I read again the weapon is meant for Mark of Khorne only. And the Daemon entry have only Daemon of Khorne upgrade.
- There is another way to arm the Daemon Prince to be useful which is still quite good vs horde. Is called The Black Mace. Still a Daemon Weapon. Unsaved wounds take Toughness test, else be removed. At end of phase, if Black Mace causes one or more wounds, all enemies within 3" of the bearer take Toughness test or suffer a wound with no saves of any kind allowed!
- Havocs get Flakk missiles but at 10pts each and without the Interceptor rule, I don't think is gonna be a hot item.

..and dont forget at S7 only. So might as well spent your money on the ADL with Quadgun.

Sonic weapon scares me. Lucky you need 10 man to take the Blastmasters.
Death Guards.. Vuel is gonna like it.

guy the codex not in Sabah yet but do Berzerkers still cost major damage in CC ? cos that the only real unit i have

13pts for a standard csm marine ^^ i am a happy undivided camper

warp talons are also the shiznit... a bit expansive but 10 of em with khorne mark (not icon) lets out 40 lightning claws attacks, and a big flash bang... or for the same price 30 lightning claw attacks at T5 Very Happy
