Kingdom Death Illuminated Lady (NSFW, WIP)

Just finished getting a second layer of paint on this fig:







I'm not that good at directional lighting yet, so I kept that fairly low key.

Was quite a challenge applying the primer properly for a smooth finish, as virtually the entire figure is skin area!

The fig comes with a really creepy base of faces-for-cobblestones:



Will fix some of my errors later...

Dangabit, I din brought this when it was release (FourEyedMonster in the forum did mention about this!), guess I missed one hell of a good thing to practice skintone and OSL.

I love how you painted the expression on the face, it kinda add depths to a somehow simplistic model.

About OSL, actually sometimes its kinda hard to achieve on a model with lighter tone.. take this for example, the yellow is kinda similar to skin color, so it does not really pops, normally you need to darken the main model (wash the skin to a darker tone, etc), or use another color for light source (green, red, etc), so it will be more noticable on the skin =) Me two cent...

Nice skin.. the OSL can be improved though. I myself not very good at it but as with everything else, practice makes perfect

I shied away from entering the last WAMP Kingdom Death contest... even though I had painted a Twilight Knight already. Didn't want to memalukan sendiri But might just do some touch-up on this and submit for the voucher.

I originally went for more extreme OSL, and used dark brown for the shadows. It didn't look good when displayed with overhead lighting, so I ended up covering the shadows up and only letting some of it show through a few layers of flesh colour.

Also wanted to have the lamp emit blue lighting, but found a yellow <-> brown mono colour scheme to be more interesting.

It's quite fun how the opacity of acrylic allows me to achieve this oil-painterly effect.

diff2find: Of course I'd choose this. Hardly ever chance upon nude minis of this quality anywhere!

Ah what the heck... I've fixed some details and entered my KD minis into the contest.:
