Brandenberg Escalation

Finally got my hands on the Escalation book last week, and the Brandenberg Imperial Guard immediately comes to the fore! As xeno, traitor and heretics rise in number in the KJ Sector, Commissar Freymann decided that enough is enough, and assembled the following task force (in 1850, of course):

That was totally epic vs Rizal's Titan and support of 3 vendettas, 2 leman russ, a hydra, vets, Marbo n hq. One thing's for sure, when IG take on titans, they need to bring a shadow sword. As it was, my Baneblade survived 2 turns - in the first turn alone a single shot from the Titan took out 7 hull points from the Baneblade! When the Baneblade exploded, the blast also destroyed one of Rizal's russes which came too close. The battle was hard fought as my hordes actually made it into charge range of the rear lines, but I eventually ran out of troops ...

Then my old Windrider Eldar army took on the same Titan force. I was very very lucky to seize the initiative, and soon noticed how powerful Eldar anti tank shooty is. Serpents bring down void shields and fire prisms and bright lances take out hull points. The Titan blew up in turn 2, taking with it one of my jetbike squads which was too close (they just destroyed the hydra). Eldar won this battle but it would have been very different if I didn't seize the initiative.

Escalation is awesome! Can't wait to do more!

when you mention titan blowing up..surely bring back memories. Greatest joy i ever had seeing an ork stompa blowing up from precision strike from 7 Thunderbolt in a single turn.
