Daemons 2013 invasion!

New Daemons confirmed coming with pre-order up on 23rd Feb. (Ironic that I'll be playing my 5th ed Daemons for the last time in Singapore on the day the new 6th ed Daemons are being released for pre-order. lol)

So current speculations are:
- They lose their fearless and eternal warrior
- They have instability test
- No more daemonic assault. Will be deployed as normal

Confirmed news:
- Powers are in the form of psychics. No longer shooting attacks. The release contains pyschic cards
- This release have nurgle blight drones, khorne chariot, tzeentch chariot, khorne/tzeentch/nurgle/slaanesh herald

Any new models? The range is already nice as it is, but there's always shelf space for more

yea... those mentioned on the confirmed news are the new models.

Except for the losing fearless part, I really like the rumored changes.

apart from the heralds which all look awesome but the rest just look weird. (eg. khorne cannon, khorne chariot, plague drones)

I like the Tzeentch models!

The Plague Drones is really funny lar.. but I think they fit papa Nurgle sense of humor hahaha..

the khorne cannon thinggy can be made into a sic base for your khorne lord riding a bike, check out the exhaust pipes at the back...

Which will amount to nothing in the face of Draigo or even a normal Lvl.2 GK GM with Nemesis Halberd & Rad-nades, or even against any unit with Nemesis Halberds for that matter.


Whatever it is, my Eldar will have a better chance than before since their Rune of Warding will be the bane of most Daemons offensive 'gifts'. At least, facing 18 breath of chaos will not be as scary as it used to be.

My GK will also perform much better than b4, which is how they should be in the 1st place.

Only against GK.. but other armies will suffer.
Summore if they retain EW, NFW can't hurt them.

When is the codex release eh? I want one.

Oooo.. i got my hands on the new White Dwarf and have digested the battle report and these are the few conclusion on the new release:

1) Soul Grinder can really skyfire!!! Thank god I haven't sold any of them off yet.

2) Pink Horrors in numbers function same as the Fantasy Daemons in previous edition. The more guys in the unit, the higher the mastery level of them.

3) You can still pick 2 Heralds per HQ slot. Each Herald can provides locus ability to the unit he joins example Herald of Nurgle gives FnP. Herald of Tzeentch gives +1 S to the psychic damage. (Not sure this comes in default or have to purchase upgrades)

4) Every Daemon shooting phase got to roll the warp storm chart. In the battle report, it gives all daemons +1 inv save! Double 1 on the chart can wipe out all the daemons though. The details unknown.

5) Daemons deploy normally and all Daemons have the option to deep strike but they got to be rolled like others. Icon works the same able to let them deep strike without scatter.

6) Burning Chariot of Tzeentch has Torrent AP3 Flamers along with second mode with high strength for vehicle killing.

7) From GW website, Daemon Princes are on HQ slot and nerf down to T4. That's just plain sad!

Khorne Cannon probably only AV11 or 12 with open topped as it got killed by a Stormtalon pretty quickly.

9) Plague Drones can get 3+ armor and has 3 wounds each. They moves pretty fast. I think I'll be getting some of these.

Latest rumors on the Daemons.

- Soul Grinder base at 220pts. Has Skyfire special rule. (maybe play 2 will do)
- Bloodthirster stat is insane. S8 T7 W5, re-roll all failed to hit and to wound. (yay! my FW bloodthirster will see battlefield again)
- Daemonic Instability works only in assault phase where if the unit suffer 25% casualties, you roll 2D6 and minus your Ld. You take damage equal to the difference. So daemons are still fearless in shooting phase. (sounds ok)
- Bloodcrushers are now monstrous beasts and have rage. Monstrous Beast, means that they have the rules of Beasts AND MC's. SO they move 12, have fleet, Move Through cover, Smash, Hammer of Wrath, ignore difficult terrains,Fear. (They are very exp now!)
- Beast of Nurgle has S4 T5 W4 and beast. They are even better than the Chaos Spawns! (I see myself playing a couple of these guys)

Just a few days back I said to Diff, I'd like to get some Bloodcrushers as ally. Then..

I doubt Phil would do a unit like this.. but if he did.. Don't know what to say.

They are just Bloodletter on Juggernaut. So I think they'll just be like a Khorn Lord on Juggernaut --> Bloodletters with Cavalry, +1T, +1W, +1A.

I saw a pic a few days back, it was a bit blurry but I think the Bloodletters are 14pts per model.

yup. 2 points drop. that has been confirmed as well.
