Necron Dynasty of DOOOM!!!

not a lot of firepower la. i got CC elements (wraiths/spyders/scarabs)


i rarely proxy models but will have to do so this weekend. hehe

My Spyders ==> Heavy Destroyers
My Tomb Blades ==> DE Reavers
My Triarch Stalkers ==> Daemon Soul Grinders

Tried my new list vs Alvin's BA on Sat. It was his tournament winning list.
(Lib, termis on land raider, Dante, assault marines, etc)

1st game. He underestimated the Triarch Stalker. Managed to take down his land raider early in the game.
His rolls were bad (for Alvin's standard). lolz
Somemore he put 2 of his assault squads for deepstrike. Even with re-roll, both couldn't come in together, so was a piece meal for me.
The necrons won!

We then decided a rematch.
2nd game. Dawn of War really suck for me.
I underestimated the IC slingshot technique and resulted my wraiths got took down early.
The ghost ark was taken down and the royal court was pinned (despite the re-roll). That was a huge turning point for me as his deathstar managed to walk across unscathed.
The BA won!


My exp with the new units:
- Tomb Spyders are nice! I only started with 3 scarab swarms. On turn 2, i will have 9 swarms. On turn 3, i can send them out to nom nom nom some armors.
- Triarch Stalkers are solid! The Melta really helps for Necrons' lack of AT. Though they are not armed with power weapons, they are still good to tie up units which is a god sent for a non-dedicated CC oriented army.
- Tomb Blades are neutral. They can dish out lots of wounds with their 5 S6 Blasts. Each volley, can cause at least 10-14 wounds on marines. Good for harassing enemy's flank. Maybe should keep them cheap with just the blast weapon upgrade.

Decided to remove the Tomb Blades as they don't really kill much.

I think the Destroyer Lord can make the Wraiths more durable and deadly in CC.
Nemesor was replaced because having an Overlord on CCB is just too much fun!

I made a small tweak to the list. Taking only 2 spyders and remove the res orb on the destroyer lord to take up a 3rd troop.

Played against Cikgu Din's Black Templar list. Due to his small army size and also quite bad dice rolls, he was not able to deal significant damage to the necrons. Necron won.

Can't really tell much on the new units (Triarch Stalkers, Spyders)'s performance. Will need to play more with them to know.

My dice are angry at me for being AWOL fr 40k fer several months. Rolling double 1s fer several times during da game especially when it matters sealed my fate.

I have to get back my dice mojo asap kekeke!!

i forgot most of it dy as i was also busy taking care of the shop in Alvin's absence.

basically by end of turn 3, necrons has taken more than half of the BT force while only losing a CCB and a Triarch Stalker.

Things happened.. but the fact that you win remains .

Have you assembled the Stalkers? How big was it? I haven't opened mine, but judging from the box, doesn't seems like it would fit a Defiler size model..

is only a bit smaller than a Soul Grinder. The height is the same though.
i love the model.

Today managed to get 2 games in with my latest list.

1st game vs Alvin's BA.
- His drop pod came in and 2 melta guys killed my CCB on 1st turn.
- His dice were pretty bad (unlike his usually good rolls).
- Necron won!


2nd game vs Marcus's Space Sharks
- His land raider multi-melta took down my CCB on 1st turn.
- Swarms took down a razor back, 5 men marines and a land raider!
- Was pretty close game and it was a draw at first but managed to pull a win in the end by last min capturing objective.


Game thoughts:
- Triarch Stalker is golden vs vehicle. Definitely the best answer to land raiders.
- Spyders are fun for making swarm babies. My unit of 4 always get to 8 fellas and they get sent wrecking havoc.
- Destroyer Lord with Wraiths added some survivability and punch to the unit.
- Cryptek Lances are always powerful and get even better with the Triarch Stalker's targetting relay.
- I don't know why my CCB always gets destroyed on 1st turn. Next time, I'll send him to the safest spot first. =.=

Had altogether 3 games with the current list this weekend.

1st game vs Soo Kai's Ultramarines. Necron won.

2nd game vs Alvin's new BA list. Necron won.

3rd game vs Dann's golden boy list. Necron won.

Will need to test this list further vs horde (Orks) and also Kadir's scary DE list.

I wanna fight this.. but dont think I'll be around untill Kindred. See you in the 6th

i really want to have a game againts your necron la jo. But not sure when i can meet you la.

i have yet get to try against Thunderwolves. Would want to test it out too.

Szeras going to pump up the 20 Warriors squad. With Obyron always surrounded with 20 guys, he will not be able fight in combat. So he will always teleport the guys around firing 40 shots of gauss. If the guys get BS5 from Szeras, even better. 2 Triarch Stalker will be there to back them up with targeting relay. 40 shots of twin-linked madness!!!

diif2find - What's your Thunderwolf list like? I'm curious as to how best to support them. Currently building 2 Long Fang squads to support the 1 squad of 3 thunderwolves.

So what has changed?
- Overlord on CCB now has MMS instead since he can fight on chariot.
- Removed Triarch Stalkers as Land Raiders will not be of a concern as Scarabs can easily kill them. Since walkers is not that great nowadays as non-fearless can auto-fall back and hull points weakens them.
- Added Lychguards as the army bodyguard. Taking care of anything that comes close to the warriors. (provided that their weapon is considered power axe and not power swords)
- Removed Spyders for more points and added the numbers for Scarabs.
