The new Flying Monstrous Creature rule is amazing!
Upon deepstrike, I get to choose what mode the Flying MC is on.
That means, we can get Hard to Hit rule upon arriving!
With that in mind, this will be my new 6th ed list; Smile

Took out bloodcrushers since hellblades are AP3 now. Suck!
Keeping the Fiends of Slaanesh since beast ignore difficult terrain due to Move Through Cover, ignore dangerous terrain test. I can deepstrike them into area terrain with ease.

There you have it. 5 Flying MC zooming around the board. Bloodthirster will fly and engage the nastiest unit.
Fateweaver and bodyguards (DPs) will fly around killing stuff with their stuff. Ngek ngek ngek ngek.

Just tried the list vs Edward at Alvin's shop just now.
He played BA ally with GK (Draigo and 5 Paladdins). WTF right? lol

Anyway, just to share some game exp here trying out the Flying MC rules:

- THEY ROCK! Edward had hard time taking down even 1 MC with shooting when he has 4 Psycannons and 4 Missile Launchers shooting at 1 MC.
- After deepstrike, they can declare they are in swooping mode. So instantly getting invulnerability to assaults even though only inches away from enemy. Smile
- Vector strike was fun as BloodThirsters flying around dealing D3+1 S8 AP3 hits.
- There is still a restriction on flying MC as they can only pivot 90 degrees before swooping again, is hard to fly back if enemies start to go around them.


Question though for Vector Strike. Let's say I vector strike with my MC and dealt 3 wounds. Vector Strike is resolved at the end of movement phase. So where are those wounds allocated to the enemy unit?
- To the front of the unit?
- Or nearest to my MC which is now at the back of the unit?

I asked the folks on Warseer, they say resolve the Vector Strike from the front where the Flying first fly over.

yea, flyers are now very powerful. IG Vendettas list rocks.

the new squadron rule helps as well. if immobilized, is no longer wrecked but can be left out and treated as another unit. so you can still fire with the immobilized Vendetta! (unless of course you go on Zooom mode and get immobilized la)

Found that the Fiends is even more fragile with Overwatch rule and hard to get 4+ cover saves. So taking out to put in more troops.

I went back to Penang and found I have a LoC model.
Then was thinking of swapping the BloodThirster for a Lord Of Change since the BT always need to be stuck in combat to be effective and with Challenges, the BT usually get tied down. Sad

didn't see your question earlier in the post... but just an opinion: i thought we should apply Random Allocation as per pg 15 when you're not sure where the direction of the attack came from?

We are sure about it when we use vector strike, just imagine the blood thirster diving towards the helpless space marines at incredible speed, axe swiping and probably grabbing one for lunch later. I'm pretty certain the guys at the back would be seeing their brothers getting slaughtered and prompt them to dodge from it. Also, vector strikes are resolved as if they had shot a shooting weapon.

The bloodthirster never landed, it's still swooping. Just use your imagination and make life easier la, I would say the MC swipes the space marines when it comes down from the front.

It's not really logical to say the models at the back dies just because it's where the MC ended up at.

Yesterday tried my Daemons of DOOOM!!! vs Marcus's Space Marines ally with Eldar. It was 1750pts.
He has a Stormtalon and I couldn't take it down with my shooting and relying on S5 vector strike doesn't really help either.
And since we will be playing more on 1500 pts and the Lord Of Change is super exp, I'm dropping him in favor of a BloodThirster.

Re-tweaking the list to include the new Screamers. They are now super buffed! Smile

DPs will be downgraded to normal and take Iron Hide (3+ AS) since most of the AA weapons are AP4. This is to add on their survivability. And since will be Vector Striking most of the time, added Unholy Might (+1 S) to them. At least S6 vector strikers can hurt AV12 flyers.
