Dreadlord Akkarin Marches To War!!

Grab myself the DE Army Book that day. Having spent some time with it, I must say my initial thought on it is just so~so saja lah. Maybe after a few games, I'd understand them better and start to like them more.

wah, nice but i only got 2k at most of chaos warriors cant game at that point level.

List wise, I love the black ark raiders feel, was just saying to dann over lunch if I start Dark Elves I would want to theme it to a Black ark corsair army.

Corsairs are good since the changes to Sea Dragon Cloak. But more expensivelah since we now have to pay for that additional hand weapon.

If you realize, I cant play my DE at 3.5k points because I simply don't have enough Core units. I need to get myself more Corsairs or maybe invest on a block of wyches.

Did inventory check last night and find out I have only 10 Dark Riders. So am taking out the 3rd Dark Riders squad.

Had a very fun game against High Elves just now. But the game took soooo long to finish since I've forgotten most of the rules already. Even basic rules like charging and fleeing was lost to me. This game told me that I need to study the rulebook again before the next game.

Despite being just a minor victory, Malekith was greatly pleased with the defeat of our misguided kin. The slaves pen is mow much livelier.

As a reward, the Witchking bolstered our ranks with 60 Warriors. But that wasn't all. He also reward us with another of that rare Hydra!

I really like the Cauldron of Blood.
Taken with Crone and Wyches. On the charge will have:
D6+1 s5 impact hits,
Fear test at -3 Ld,
8-10 S10 attacks,
2+2 attacks per Wyches, reroll to wound.
Ganas!

But all it takes is one great cannon shots to ruin the day hahaha

So if you assemble a Bloodwrack Shrine you get a free Avatar of Khaine? Sweet!

With magnets. I can swap between Couldron and Shrine anytime. And use the Avatar as ally with my 40k Dark Eldar aanytime I want heheh

The assembling of the Cauldron almost done. Should be able to use it in the next game (not within this few weeks though). This is my plan for using it in my list.

18 Wyches - Full Command, Razor Standard

The Cauldron has a footprint of 12 wyches. Meaning if I deployed them 6 wide (my favourite setup) I'll get a unit of 6x5 Wyches. The other option is to go 7 wide of which I'll get a unit of 7x4 Wyches + 2 extras.

Now the Wyches will have Super Frenzy (+2 Attacks each), and have a 6+ ward saves. 6+ may seems nothing, but still something lar since the ladies are practically naked. Say a unit of 7 wide charges into combat, the damage output will be 29 S3 poisoned attacks, D6+1 S5 Impact Hits, 8-10 S10 Attacks with Armour Piercing.

They cause Terror to enemy. If the enemy passed that and gets into base contact (close combat), they now have to make a Fear test at -3 to Leadership! Nice isn't it

But that wasn't all, the unit also receive a nice +4 bonus to dispel when they become target of a spell. All I need is a level 2 wizard to increase that to a +6 to dispel.

Now the real threat to this is a Great Cannon. The Cauldron has a 4+ ward save but a weapon that cause Multiple Wound (D6) is still as scary as hell since even one shot has tendency to instakill the Chariot.

How to insta-kill the chariot? What's its T value?

Make it move through a forest!

In all seriousness, except spells that ignore armour save and bolt throwers, that 4+ ward save would be a pain to go through.

Since it's a chariot (assuming, not sure since I don't own the book), we can't Killing Blow it

In the olden edition, chariots being hit by s7 atks = auto destroyed. Now they aren't so brittle any more.

That s7 rules against chariot.. My DE assassins can in fact instakill chariot with shuriken+manbane hahaha..

I'm glad it was no longer in effect

So that just leaves:

Shoot it to death and roll as many 6's as possible, while praying he fails enough ward saves



Not a pretty scenario no matter how you look at it.

Or you can just try to flank it and win combat, hoping he'll flee and you can catch up.

Chariot by themselves are not scary, they will still lose to SCR.

How many points is the Warbanner eh?

For tonight will have to drop 500 points. Which one should I drop eh?

If you shave off/minimize your magic items and banners, you can save around 100 points or so. After that, it's just the matter of "which 400 points does not matter in the least?" of which 372 points (maximum) can be taken out from your core to make it a lean 500 point minimum. Then it's just a remaining 18 points left to shave off, which most likely will be 1 or 2 Black Guards. The alternative would be to remove 2 command units from your Cold One Knights since more Black Guards is always awesome.

Of course, I can't make specific suggestions, that'd be biased

Yesterday's game was fun.

High time was when the Beast Mage turned into a great dragon with 8 all over the stats. Lucky I have Hellebrone with her S10 Attacks to deal with it. Together with the Black Guards, they successfully slay the great dragon in time before it strike.. Scary moment.

The Cauldron did nothing much.

My Sorceress is funny one, she loses her magic level thanks to IF, but has 9 wounds :-D

Aha yes. I was enlightened by manuevering kung-fu that evaded most of my charges and turning it into something I didn't want. That was brilliant I learnt a lot of things that night.

But I still want 2 dragons in my army. Arrrrrrr

I doubt I can do that again, now that you've seen it
