| Thought we should start a thread to centralize all the rumors that are floating around the web. So to kick it off here are some juicy stuff for you Eldar players. from ye good ol BoLS http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2012/05/40k-rumors-eldar-early-stuff.html - Quote :
Via Stickmonkey
I have some very early Eldar rumors. First let me start with a very clear disclaimer:
THESE ARE EARLY RUMORS, CODEX ELDAR IS RUMORED MID TO LATE 2013! I EXPECT MUCH OF THIS TO CHANGE OR EVOLVE FROM WHAT I AM HEARING TODAY!
Ok, very small list, so on to what Im hearing:
Aspects all have a way to move to troops. However, some are limited to one unit only. The phoenix Lords are NOT this mechanism supposedly.
Guardians have a slight points reduction.
Tanks ( night spinner, fire prism, falcon) have a point reduction.
Transports are about the same cost.
Storm guardians are an upgrade of normal guardians.
Rumor those units requiring a guide (wraithguard , wraithlord) longer sit idle when out side range and rolling a 1. Instead they can make a move towards a warlock or other guide. Engaging these units in cc while they are outside their guides range will have penalties, treat as ws 1, i 1. However, guides will have "buffs" they can give. Reroll to hit, bonus save, etc. (To me this sounds suspiciously like changes to nids and the tervigon)
via Romanus (note:A little extra salt here)
heard that they have played with Wave serpents Energy Shields becoming weaker, in that they loose there negative effects against melta etc. Still these are playtesting rumors at this stage so subject to a huge variable of change.
From what I have heard and from other sources around the interwebs the first wave for Eldar would look like:
Flyer - Possibly with 2nd wave flyer release (supposedly related to the large vehicle chassis), I have also heard it is the Nightwing but this would contradict what GW has been saying lately that there wouldn't be anymore direct ports from FW
New Plastic Jetbikes (seen Games Day 2010) New Plastic Vyper Larger Vehicle Chassis Guardian Box incorporating Storm and Battle guardians??? Finecast characters
I know that Eldar are being worked on at the moment, but its mostly throwing around Ideas and seeing how they work. I'm not 100% sure on the design sequence that GW follows but this would seem pretty prelim to me. I know that this has been going on for around six months so far, with some pretty nifty ideas being tried. Thats all I'll say on the matter though
Eldargal jumps in to say:
New Avatar sculpt New Falcon variants Entirely new vehicle New jetbikes and vyper jetbike models New character sculpts, new special character(s) and new SC sculpts New versions of Aspect warriors, similar to current models but 'more dynamic'

| What would be more appropriate is to categorize each type of rumours and to also include news, to each separate topic.
For an example.. General: GW rumours/releases on rulebook/accessories/paints/terrain OR mixed rumours/releases of kits (etc. the flyers rumour).
Humans: IG, SOB and Space Marine Chapter rumours/releases Xenos: Tau, Orks, Tyranid, Eldar and Necron rumours/releases Chaos: CSM, DE and Chaos Daemon rumours/releases
[EDIT] Then again, having different topics require frequent updates and have people engage in discussion of them to make them lively. If topics are only updated once per few months, then one topic on rumours is all we need.

| @Jake
For now i think one topic will do, we can always create separate ones as necessary when it becomes too crowded.

Well maybe there's some update for them as their FAQ currently is quite good for 5th ed though not that competitive..did u guys see the side of the all the White Dwarfs mags this year..looks like a Dark Angels marine..maybe there's something for them after all..

| 6th edition wound allocation rumour heard from table top boutique. not sure bout source myself, think it was from beasts of war.
RUMORED 6th Wound Allocation Wounds inflicted upon a target unit must be applied in order of closest models to the firing unit, with the owning player getting to assign the individual hits as he sees fit within the legal models selected.
Example If a 5 man unit suffers 3 wounds (say 2 bolters, and a lascannon), the owning player must assign them to the three models closest to the firing unit (get out your tape measures), but you can assign the lascannon hit to any of the three models who were closest.
in essence, front fellas get gunned down first, i think this may make assaulting a static shooting unit more challenging. so put your toughest meat shields up front. this may also mean that putting my special weapon carrying marine in the front row may be a bad idea.

| Another way would be you just assign all your red shirt in the front row while the important dude at the back. | |

| I actually like it. I can't imagine ANY of the marine's vehicles being sleek or aerodynamic. They're bulky, practical and proud of it. The stormraven and stormtalon looks like a battering ram more than a fighter plane... but I got a feeling marines use them as battering rams more often than as fighter planes | |

| I believe you're describing ork vehicles.
1. It has landing gears between the underslung weapon, what about the back? 2. Remove the underslung weapon and it'll look more practicable. That thing looks big when it's on the plane/helicopter? 3. Tiny wing spans on the turbines. 4. Weird tail fin.

| Space marines believe in machine spirits for that piece of metal to fly. Orks believe in that piece of metal would fly so it flies.
I guess not. | |

| Posting the latest rumour, since this really caught my attention, the bold ones. BOLS, originally from Faeit 212. (visit for even more stuff, there's alot on psychic powers)New Rules Psykers can mix and match the new Psychic Disciplines, using the ones in their codex or by using the ones in the new rulebook, the example given is if space marine army had 2 librarians one could take codex powers and the other could take rulebook powers. HQ's can challenge in single combat,Jump packs get to re-roll charge rolls, Jet packs get to "scoot" up to 2D6" away in the assault phase, Rage is +2 attacks on the charge Dreadnoughts have 3 Hull points, Soulgrinder, Ghost Arks and Land Raiders have 4, Land Speeders get Jink for a +5 cover save or 4+ if flat out, Snipers can select targets if they roll a 6 to hit, Flying Monstrous creatures can swoop 24" and perform a Vector Strike which is D3+1 hits at it's strength on a unit it flies over. Monstrous creatures get the Smash ability which allows them to halve their attacks but strike at double strength. Fortifications & Terrain Bastion in the Bat rep had a quad gun which has the Interceptor rule which allows it to shoot at a unit as it arrives from reserve and the Skyfire rule which allows it to shoot flyers at normal BS rather than BS1. Bastions have AV14 all round and have a heavy bolter on each facing, they're automated and target the nearest enemy unit, can have a comms relay or a heavy weapon on the battlement. Tank traps are impassable terrain to all non skimmer vehicles, bikes can attempt to pass on a successful difficult terrain test, models behind it can get a 4+ cover save. Aegis defence lines are a 4+cover save but models behind it get +2 to cover save if they go to ground behind it. Mysterious forests are 5+ cover save, as soon as you enter you roll on the table to see what happens. Ruins are difficult terrain and a 4+ cover save. Wild undergrowth is a 5+ cover save and difficult terrain. Imperial Statuary is all imperial models within 2" of the terrain piece are fearless. Fuel Reserves 5+ cover save, each successful cover save roll a D6, on a 1 a barrel explodes doing a strength 3 hit on any models nearby. Impact craters are a 5+ cover save if the unit is within it's boundaries. | |
