PostSubject: Flat out and turbo boost question   Flat out and turbo boost question EmptySat Jul 21, 2012 3:56 am

The answer could already have been discussed before but does anyone have clarity for this? In the rulebook it says that the maximum distance a fast skimmer can move flat out is 18" and the maximum distance an Eldar jetbike can move flat out is 36", etc

Does that mean that the skimmer can move 12" during movement phase, and then a further 18" during shooting phase? Or just another 6" during shooting phase?

You move flat out/t-boost during shooting phase so 18"/36" extra. See moving phase for vehicles. Fast vehicles flat out 12", whilst fast skimmers flat out 18"; normal skimmers just flat out 6" like other normal vehicles.

The changes and exceptions to the normal 6" flat out of vehicles is stated in the individual unit types.

Conclusion, vehicles can only move up to 12" in moving phase, flat out moves are forever made in the shooting phase in 6th ed.

I'm curious to wonder why you would say a skimmer could move 12" and then 18". Unless I guess the interpretation behind was = 12" Vehicle move(movement phase) and then 12" Vehicle move + Flat out move (shooting phase).

Easy one bro..
Skimmer : move 12, can flat out 6
Fast Skimmer : move 12, can flat out 18

I really like this ed, coz my Reavers can now move up to 48 inches in a single turn!

coolness. Thanks. That's how we played it, and mobility has new meaning nowadays. Tactical value of Eldar jetbikes just went up (they are troops ya)

Instead using reavers as MSU lance shooting unit, they are now better to zooom around causing damage. Due to their skilled rider USR, they are the only few bikers to still get 3+ cover for turbo boosting.
