| Hey all. This is kind of a follow up topic to the "Imperial Fists army?" one. 1st try at an army list of 1500 points and this is linda mix and match. It's hard to read on my teeny tiny phone screen so my weapon choices are kinda anti-armour based. Thoughts and advice much appreciated! *oooo cute flower smiley face. HQ Captain x1 +Chainfist, Melta Bombs, Storm Bolter, Terminator Armour Elites Sternguard Veteran Squad Space Marine Sergeant x1 +Plasma Pistol, Storm Bolter Veterans x4 +lascannon, missile launcher Terminator Assault Squad Terminator x4 Terminator Sergeant x1 Troops Space Marine Bike Squad Space Marine Biker x2 +Melltagun Biker Sergeant x1 +Melta bombs, Plasma Pistol Tactical Squad Space Marine x9 +Meltagun, Missile Launcher, Drop Pod, Storm Bolter Space Marine Sergeant x1 +Melta Bombs, Power Weapon, Storm Bolter Tactical Squad Space Marine x9 +Lascannon, Meltagun, Drop Pod, Storm Bolter Space Marine Sergeant x1 +Melta Bombs, Power Fist, Storm Bolter Heavy Support Dreadnought (Heavy) x1 +Extra Armour, Twin-Linked Autocannon, Twin-Linked Lascannon Predator x1 +Extra Armour, Heavy Bolters, Hunter-Killer Missile, Twin-Linked Lascannons

| just a suggestion. I would give the IC a TH instead of a chainfist. Because ic can be challenge so you may need to knock those big MC to Initiative 1 if you want to survive. | |

| For Imperial Fist, take Lysander. Attach him to the Sternguards, and put them in a Drop Pod with Locator Beacon. His Bolter Drill works great with Sternguards.
Summore Your bikers aren't Troops. For your bikers to be Troops, you need a Captain on bike.

| Yup, bikers aren't troops without a bike-riding captain (which is very White Scarsish)

| Drop a termie take Lysander cause he's a boss. Dreadnought should be in elite section and maybe just take both autocannons, sit behind and dakka.
Terminators all Thunderhammer storm shields.
Drop one tactical squad in favour of scouts with camo cloaks and sniper rifles. Take advantage of Lysander's Bolster defense rule.
Also try to add in a flyer. Maybe drop the predator in favour of a storm talon.
My Suggestion. | |

| Hopefully the edit agrees with everyone. Lesson learned: Never post from the teeny tiny phone. I shall tweak the army list a little. Need to read up on all those special rules and use them to my advantage. Thanks for all the suggestions and help. Peace out. | |

- Sternguard Veteran Squad
Space Marine Sergeant x1 +Plasma Pistol, Storm Bolter Veterans x4 +lascannon, missile launcher This is neither point efficient nor a good Stern setup. If you want 2 Heavy weapons, It is always better to take a Devastator squad. They are cheaper and the Sgt can give +1BS to one of the guy. Sargeant can't shoot both Plasma Pistol and Storm Bolter at the same time. Summore the Special Ammo is for Bolter only. Sternguards are best at Rapid Firing range. - Quote :
- Tactical Squad
Space Marine x9 +Meltagun, Missile Launcher, Drop Pod, Storm Bolter Space Marine Sergeant x1 +Melta Bombs, Power Weapon, Storm Bolter
Tactical Squad Space Marine x9 +Lascannon, Meltagun, Drop Pod, Storm Bolter Space Marine Sergeant x1 +Melta Bombs, Power Fist, Storm Bolter For Deepstriking Tacticals, never spent points on Heavy Weapons. Take the free Missiles or MultiMelta, and forget the Heavy Bolter. Maybe give the Lasscannon to Devastators. As for the Sargeant - Combi-weapons are always better than Storm Bolter.

| This one is better than previous. But still, a lot of improvement can be made. It all depends on your overall strategy. The question is.. How do you wanna play your IF? Answer that, then take the unit that can fit that strategy.
Why you put Dread in Heavy Support? they are Elite. Let me help you a bit here:
HQ : Lysander
ELITES: 10 Sternguards | Sgt With PFist, 2 Heavy Bolter Dreadnought | TL-Lasscannon, TL-Autocannon Ironclad Dreadnought with Seismic Hammer, 2 Hunter Killer Missiles - dedicated Drop Pod
TROOPS: 5 Scouts | Snipers, Camo, Sgt with PWeapon 10 Tacticals | Meltagun, Missile Launcher, Sgt with PWeapon+Meltabombs - Dedicated Rhino with 2 Storm Bolter 10 Tacticals | Meltagun, Plasma Cannon, Sgt with PWeapon+Meltabombs - Dedicated Rhino with 2 Storm Bolter
How many points is that?

| Quick suggestion...
Sternguards Sqd: Sgt - PF + Combi-Melta; Combit-Melta (x9) > Drop Pod <
1) The above will give you 1st turn killing power and will likely be able to pop 2 heavy vehicles or high toughness units (think Monstrous Creatures or ICs) 2) Sternguards with Heavy bolter is wasting their special issue ammunition special capability... furthermore if you move them you can only snap shot (6s to hit) 3) Lysander will support sternguards with whatever bolt weaponary they are shooting with his special rule which is good but think also about Vengence Round that gets a reroll and you'll have a chance to avoid the Gets Hot problem

| I support what he said. Coz that is how the Sterns best works 1st turn : Drop Pod Assault. Disembark into 2 units with 5 CMeltas each. Destroy 2 enemy key units. Lysander stay with one unit 2nd turn : Lysander makes his move. Any Surviving Sterguards starts shooting at infantries at their best range --> Rapid Fire. Much better if you have 3 Drop Pod. Then 2 of them can drop in turn 1. Creating more chaos in enemy line. | |

| Thanks, BLee and LordAK. That was kind of the plan; to wreck havoc and basically cause (very un-SM) chaos. Infiltrating enemy lines and attacking from within but the primary force will be those shooting to kill. Dreadnought was put in heavy cuz BattleScribe put it there? I'll keep in mind its an elite. Thanks. (Heavy bolters can't use special rounds?) | |
