Review of Dust Tactics Core Set Empty
PostSubject: Review of Dust Tactics Core Set   Review of Dust Tactics Core Set EmptyTue May 08, 2012 2:13 pm

Got the original Dust Tactics Core set, thanks to Paxter pointing the nearest one to me. XD

I must shout out that this box is huge and heavy, when I got it I felt like I had actually bought plywoods in a box. Really worth my bucks for it.

After examining the contents, since I'm nit-picky about every corner of defective details, I found several, although some weren't hard to notice.

First is and would be a problem of packaging is that I got two Recon Boys Unit Cards instead of the BBQ Squad Unit Card, not game breaking since I printed one out and would be playing Dust Warfare too.

Second, the models, I won't complain about the details since there's nothing wrong there. However, bent weapons, some of the Allied troops had them, a known problem I presume but the plastic is kinda soft so you can bend it back.

Third and final problem, pre-assembling, this should have been it's selling point but what I noticed are the Allied walkers; they were slightly 'mis-assembled', especially on the cannons. The walkers had some small parts that weren't properly shaved off, hiding this hiccups with paint won't be a problem.

The plus side though, is that you get a whole lot with the original core set compared to the revised one which I recommend finding them cause it's getting rarer I presume.

As other reviews would have pointed out, it is better than the AOBR as a starter set for tabletop games. In this box you get a platoon sized army which the average game is usually two platoons for tabletop hence you have already purchased half of your army for about 190 bucks. Not to mention you only need the Warfare rulebook to play, no extra codex needed.

Inevitably, whatever you buy, you buy for both Dust Tactics and Dust Warfare, double yay!
