| I realized that there was no thread on this army of mine in the new forum, so here goes.
So let me bring back the original Chaos Havocs Squad that terrorized the tables a long time ago.
A 1,500 point army list for the Iron Warriors. Obviously, I'm not gonna be playing this army so soon, I'm still in the Dark Eldar zone.
HQ Warpsmith
Elites 5 Chaos Terminators 2 Combi-meltas Reaper Autocannon
Chaos Land Raider
Chaos Dreadnought Twin-linked Lascannon + Power Fist
Chaos Dreadnought Reaper Autocannon + Missile Launcher
Troops 10 man Chaos Space Marines Lascannon
10 man Chaos Space Marines Missile Launcher
Heavy Support 8 man Chaos Havocs 4 Autocannons
8 man Chaos Havocs 4 Heavy Bolters
Chaos Vindicator
Exactly 1,500 points. | |

| This is cool for a change.. Way to go Iron Warriors! I think the Helbrute is nice. Chaos Dread finally got better. Your 10 man troops setup is weird. Not even a special weapon? | |

| Haha, I already bought 2 of the Iron Warriors Dreadnought and 1 of them painted up, I think I'll stick to calling them Dreadnoughts.
Yeah, no special weapons at all, not enough points. I was thinking of flamers, which are alright, but I think the extra points are better spent on long ranged fire power.

| you might want to swap your land raider out for more shooty goodness. get in a cheap cultist unit just in case. | |

| Yup.. I also think the Land Raider seems out of place since your IW is shooty. Oblits would seems more appropriate in your list, IW is the only army list that I think should have more than one squad of Obliterators. | |

| The heavy support is already full, not stylish la without the Land Raider. | |

| So what is your plan for the Warpsmith. I like the cool Curse thing but the range of 18 too short to be effective since most shooty tanks got at least 36 inch range. | |

| swap the land raider out for some tarpit unit such as chaos spawn or more troops. that's the strategy for shooty armies. delay enemy advance while shoot them to death and claim more objectives. | |

| Warpsmith is just a decoration.
I'll see la, whatever unit that's cool that I can add. Was thinking of the Helldrake since I didn't use any Fast Attack slot at all.

| Other than the Land Raider, I like your list. Maybe you can add more bodies to your Terminator squad?
Come to think of it, the new CSM doesn't have that many 2-wound models so I guess, Land Raider is a good 'shield' for your army.
Maulerfiend probably will fit Iron Warriors' siege mentality, but your heavy slot is already full.
By the way, my Nurgle marine list is pretty much finalised, now tinkering with an Alpha Legion CSM/IG list..

| I would give the Maulerfeind a miss for now, I was thinking of adding a Defiler if I were to remove the Heavy Bolter Havocs squad. That will look cool. | |

| Suddenly just thought of a 1,750 list since I'll probably be playing that once my army is fully painted.
HQ Warpsmith
Elites 10 Chaos Terminators Chainfist Power fist 2 Combi-meltas 2 Reaper Autocannons
Chaos Land Raider
Chaos Dreadnought Twin-linked Lascannon + Power Fist
Chaos Dreadnought Reaper Autocannon + Missile Launcher
Troops 10 man Chaos Space Marines Flamer Autocannon
10 man Chaos Space Marines Flamer Autocannon
Heavy Support 8 man Chaos Havocs 4 Autocannons
8 man Chaos Havocs 4 Lascannons
Chaos Vindicator
Total: 1,749 points
The idea is to put a lot of pressure on the opponent's army with insane amounts of high strength fire power. I only put the flamers on the Chaos Space Marines squad as a prevention in case the unit gets assaulted, but I might put the points somewhere else just to maximize long range fire power.

| This list actually looks about as shooty as new dex can get... That blob of termis is definately something that I don't wan to mess with.
Question : why 8 head on havoc? aint it cheaper if u field 5 man with 4 special weapon? for look out sir?

| Yeah, I'll figure out something about the anti-air. Was thinking the same too.
For the 8 man Havocs unit, the extra dudes are there as meat shields, I had some extra points left.

| Nah, I don't like to play full mech. I'm more of an infantry guy. The Maulerfiend/Forgefiend combo thing I'll give it a miss for now, since the list I'm building are actually the models that I have. | |

| Seriously.. the number of autocannons in your list scares me..
Like I mentioned in Din's IW thread, you need some Obliterators. For IW, they are like Berserkers in World Eaters, or Plague Marines for Death Guard. So I would take them instead of the large Terminator unit. But then no LR lah kan hahaha

| Then maybe you should drop both Helbrute and take 2x5 Terminators squads, each with their own dedicated LR! | |

| Just a short review on how the units fared in the game.
Tried the lists today, I can say that the Terminators are quite insane. They kill almost everything they look at. Even with 5 men, they can't be underestimated, they took out 2 Land Speeders, a big part of a tactical squad, a Commander, and other stuffs. The 10 man unit is just pure awesome.
The Warpsmith is quite cool, I used him to repair the Dreadnought over and over, recovering the Hull Points, enabling it to survive till turn 7. He's more of a utility guy than anything, can't really fight for whatever reason, just repair and repair.
Dreadnoughts (Hellbrutes to some) are awesome, I did something funny by repairing one of them when it's in combat. Even with the low number of attacks, it's not an easy target to take down.
No regrets taking the Land Raider, absolute awesome firing platform. Usually lasts till the end of the game.
Other than that, quite standard la.
