| There's no one enforcing anything in the 1st place. I just say know the rules, otherwise (I repeat), you wouldn't know how to react, what to expect, what can and what cannot be done. One very simple good advice for all. Summore as a 40k player (or any player of any game system), it is our responsibility to learn the rules well. - Quote :
- give you an example. deploying a transport, say a land raider or DE raider, sideways and as forward as possible, and then pivoting during the movement phase to get a few inches more to move further upfield. (i usually face this in 5th ed. not sure if it still happens in 6th)
You know your opponent can deploy sideways, and gained extra inches by pivoting. So you plan accordingly how to counter that. FYI, I've been using the same tactics since the 4th ed. With shooting so obviously powerfull in 40k, close combat oriented armies have to do everything they can, while still adhering to the rules, to close the distance and made into base contact. In fact, it was used worldwide for 3 consequtive edition. After 3 editions, GW still didn't change the rules. It most probably means they're okay with it, maybe to help balance out against shooting. - Quote :
- how about another example, about 2 different 'specialist weapons' (PF and LC) gaining an extra attack..
About the Specialist Weapon thing. How can you say it's an abuse when you dont even know the RAI of it. Read the new Abbadon rules, and you'll see the RAI of SpecWeapon rules.

| that raider thing has been used for like 3 editions already. Made technically better in this edition cause you can move 12" + 2" for pivot + deploy 6" + charge
2 inch from the edge of the raider which is usually the tip of its frontal hull or 2inch 1cm with that bit that comes with the ravager gives the raider n extra 1cm in the front.
its funnier with a venom since the venom hull is shorter at the rear. So position rearwards then swing 180 to get like an inch xtra LOL...
the tau does something similar when they drop their drones too
I would't call it dirty tho... shun but it is legal, as gw has not said you cant change the facing of the vech after you have moved. So....
i find that most of the time when we type the tone and manner cant be define by a keyboard, Best leave this kind of things to a teh tarik.

| Wow...all this from my initial post announcing and congratulating Joe as the Legio year end 40k tournament Champion and The Chosen. I believe it's only fair that I get this thread back on track. Gentlemen, let's give a huge hand and a mighty roar for our tournament Champion, Mr. Joe Soon - The Chosen One. Joe barely missed out on a perfect win score on his 1st game(17/18) but then managed to get perfect 18s for his 2nd and final game against some very tough opponents and lists. He also scored an 8/10 for his beautifully(and deadly) painted chaos demons army. And to top it off....is there even more that this guy can do??? Yes, there is! Joe was voted by his opponents with a very respectable score of 6 for his Sportsmanship!!! How truly awesome is that! This proves that not only was Joe FUN to play against but he was also FUN to lose against . How many of us can truly say that about ourselves? Well, 3rd place Mr. Dann Toh can also say the same with an even more respectable score of 8 for his Sportsmanship . Well done guys. Joe- with that impressive win record and Sportsmanship scores...I think it's you who should be giving me free re-rolls every turn . You don't need more advantage to beat me hehe. You are The Chosen after all. In fact, that makes even more sense! As The Chosen, Joe should give everyone else a free re-roll in every game that he plays! He has proven to us that he is The Chosen....now he needs to SHOW that he is The Chosen !!! Congrats again Joe on a mighty win!! You da man!! All those who agree that Joe should give everyone else a free re-roll for all games played in 2013, reply :- Joe Hensem!!! | |

| wowzers indeed my sexy brother!!
unfortunately, I have to disagree with a lot of you sexy peeps. It is as much your responsibility, as is whomever you are playing with, to insure both parties have a good time playing this...err...game.
I can respect and understand how this game might mean a wee bit more to some people and that how everyone perceives 'fun' in different ways. But as a game, it is important for both parties to come out having feel that they had fun and I think it is equally important to remember that at the end of the day it is still just a game; nobody cares how good you are at it and that is the beauty of games, there is no discrimination, you play games just to have fun.
however, there will always be a select few who in their vicious pursuit of making the game fun without being reasonable to their fellow gamers that the game ends up being fun only for them. This elitist nature happens in everything in our daily lives that it is only fair to presume that it would also creep into games as well. Sadly by doing so it is bound to happen that small people will get stepped on and have their gaming experience ruined; playing a game, the audacity.
tldr: fun may be a prerogative, but when you stop thinking about others to insure your prerogative is met, people will just walk away and the community changes.
oh and please before anything, as it has been happening so much, please imagine i am saying this with rainbows, unicorns and pink butterflies. no slight to anyone or ill feeling at all, just my 2 cents for what is worth.
and before i forget; the champion who rose like a phoenix from the depths:
JOE HENSEM !!

I have already said (politely) that i m done and even invited you for a teh tarik for further discussion. A proper response from a gentleman would be to just let it lie. Pls do not drag this any further. P.s. JOE HENSEM..

| @Khairul : Yeah.. yeah.. I get you. Me sucks. My SP is the lowest of the top 3. That alone is the best evidence as to how sucks I am on table. I must have win my games through abusive use of rules and dead serious WAACy attitude in all my games.
Maybe I should have just allowed my opponents to move his infantry more than 6 and shoot more than 24 with his Plasmagun. And then about Ongoing Reserves thing, I might get better SP if I rolled for them instead of coming automatically as was written in the rulebook. Maybe I should let my opponent cast that Psychic Power in the shooting phase, instead of at the start of the turn. Maybe bla.. bla.. bla..
I have long realized, things here has always favour those who plainly "abused" the concept of casual/fun play. Why is it so difficult to play by the rules? Wanna win so much?
But who am I to say, I'm just the sucker at the top 3 with SP4.

| Dude...chill out. I never said you suck. Never even used that word in my post. Never even mentioned about abusing rules etc. Never accused you of doing anything...where did you get all that?
I was complementing Joe and diffusing the discussion. Trying to get my thread back on track.
