Legio Army Throwdown I

Craps been busy got 2 more to paint :S n base

At the beginning I thought that I can boost up my existing White Scars with some cool looking Pre-Heresy models that I could paint up during this throwdown.
Since it is strictly either Pre-Heresy or 40k models, I have decided that I will go with Pre-Heresy models for this event.
Therefore, please disregard all existing photos that I have posted earlier and kindly demote me from the tracker. I will be posting up only Pre-Heresy models from now onwards.

One question though, if we are going to have a Pre-Heresy game later, apoc or normal, can we add 40k models? Predator tanks for example.
Also, is kit bashed model allowed? Praetor and Centurion as examples.

Glad you're enjoying it- seems to be a great way to motivate folks. I'm finally getting stuff done!

When we do our Heresy Apoc game at the end, all models need to be Heresy era models. A Predator tank may of course be used, but it will need to be a Deimos pattern Predator. Just check the ForgeWorld site- if the vehicle/model you want to use is on their list, you're all good.

Conversions are absolutely allowed and encouraged! However be certain that you don't use Mk VI, VII, or VIII armor for those.

No, unless you guys will show up personally for at least 4 throwdowns and the May 10th finale. If you want to compete, why not organize a Penang throwdown?

How about if we can come for one throwdown and everyone is amazed with Padios's choice for that week's throwdown. Can members vote for it?

I've given you my answer, Doc. We'd love to have you guys visit, but neither you nor Patrick will be eligible to win a throwdown. Those are for local painters who are coming to hobby night on a regular basis for encouragement and feedback. Both of you were added as a courtesy exception by your request.

Hey jeff can i pass my models to someone on friday to be displayed for throwdown just realize i wont be in the country. If that isnt ok i prob just upload them here

No, sorry mate but you have to be there in person for throwdowns. Remember that you only need to make 4 of them. You're half way there so I wouldn't sweat it

Hey it's all good dude! I'll have to figure out what to paint for this challenge... the first few throwdowns will be CRAZY with me working on two armies simultaneously LOL...!

Should we start a blog for the northern gamers or wanna stick with the fb page? We can discuss this later.
There are a lots of newbie here in Penang(Rom, Patrick and Rueben manage to corrupt a few) so they might be willing to join the competition, too. Though the competitiveness here is not as high as KL side, I am sure they are some that will join.

Point to argue.....
If you look at the Horus Heresy Vehicle Accessory section ( http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/The_Horus_Heresy/HORUS_HERESY_VEHICLE_ACCESSORIES ), you will notice that the doors all rectangular and cannot fit the below vehicles.

Such as.... ( http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/The_Horus_Heresy/Space_Marine_Legion_Tanks ) that all have rounded doors.

So I hope you guys could consider the participants from using the newer GW tanks such as Predator, Rhino etc, which all have rectangular doors, and they can use these FW doors.

I don't understand, Doc. The Forge World list clearly shows what tanks may be used. The plastic Land Raider and the plastic Rhino are usable for sure. The Predator is not. Make sure you're looking at all the pages of the Tanks of the Horus Heresy section- look thoroughly and you'll see

Ok...so I can use a Rhino in a Pre heresy army.
Also a Land Raider. Sweet.
No need for me to buy that expensive Deimos Pattern Rhino.

Does this also mean the I can use plastic Terminators and Dreadnaughts?

No, you may not use plastic Terminators. No, plastic Dreadnoughts may not be used.
