oh ya... another important rule i learnt in Singapore.
since now range weaponry can only kill what is in range. That applies to my Flamers' breath of chaos too.

Assuming a bunch of 30 orks. 3 Flamers dropped in. Each flamer template can only hit 5. so 5 x 3 = 15 hits. got 7 wounds. but only 5 models are removed because only 5 models are in range of the templates.

I haven't used my Nids in a while, and my BA and DE aren't hordes. So I've never felt the effects of template weapons that couldn't touch everybody in a unit already Very Happy

More info from a translated German codex!

- Greater Daemon of a particular god can move Daemon Prince of that god to Heavy Slot instead of HQ.
- Tzeentch daemons get to re-roll failed inv saves of 1.
- Fateweaver got nerf to have only 4+ inv saves and allow only re-roll of inv saves. Sad(
- Warp storm chart is bloody scary. Basically on 2D6, anything lower than 7 bad for own army. result of 8 and 9, certain god and all enemies not in CC get zaaap like Imotekh's living lightning on a roll of 6. 10 onwards is good for Daemon only. Sad
- Characters cannot buy equipment. They can get gifts in 3 different level for points. And they got to roll randomly in each of them.

My thoughts:
- The whole daemon army now focus more on horde style with supports from heralds. Nurgle looks like the best for now as the herald can give unit FnP and 2+ poison.
- Plaguebearers are T4 now with no FnP but get shrouded rule. So Nurgle herald with them is a must.
- Soul Grinder only get skyfire for his harvester weapon which is 3 shots autocannon at BS3 or you get 6 shots autocannon but no skyfire rule.
- Fateweaver no longer gives re-roll bubble to friendly units.
- No more pavane that can move units.
- No more breath of chaos for Flamers. They basically suck now!
- Screamers retain the same ability with mark of tzeentch means they can re-roll result of failed 1 inv saves. I think I will need to get more of these guys. Smile
- bloodcrushers seems to be playable now that they are cavalry and now with 3 wounds but they are nerfed at T4 and 6+ saves only. so they can be easily ID with ML. Sad. Sad
- Fiends got nerf too as they get 3 attacks only but got an additional wound and rules that make enemy -5 In and psykers within 12" get -1 to Ld. no Rending. Sad


The whole army looks like got tonned down a lot but in a good way that they are many ways to play them now.

with all these info in mind. my 1st test play list will probably have these:
HQ
Fateweaver (to hunt down flyers)
- always cast biomancy on himself and snipe other flyers.
- he can re-roll 1 dice per turn. so should be useful for failed ground test.
1 herald of nurgle (joining the plaguebearers)
- give FnP
1 herald of khorne on juggernaught (joining the bloodcrushers)
- give hatred

ELITE
- 1 squad of bloodcrushers
- 1 squad of beast of nurgle

TROOP
- 1 big squad of plaguebearers
- 1 big squad of pink horrors (to deepstrike)
- 1 small squad of bloodletters (to deepstrike)
- some nurglings to infiltrate to harass flanks or enemy gunners

FAST
2 big squads of screamers to handle tanks
1 big squad of plague drones

HEAVY
2-3 soul grinders for fire support


I guess that's it. Smile

Yup. if the rumors are confirmed then what Joe said is pretty much spot on.

These are mostly 40K rumors, havent seen much in terms of WHFB yet.

Base troops now cheaper by about 2-3 points.
Horrors now act a bit like WHFB - more powerful when in a bigger group.
Pink Horrors that die spawn Blue horrors (should be interesting to see how this mechanic works)
Heralds are pretty much compulsory now for the Locus rules they give your troops.
Flamers now S4 AP4 shots with Warpflame. meh...
Named GDs are there, except Slaanesh... T.T
Seekers now seem quite viable but I'm a bit skeptical about the cost.

@Joe. Your Slaanesh daemons get rending if joined by the Herald if what I read in the forums is correct.

I may go Slaanesh with Nurgle just for shits and giggles. Glad I didnt sell off my 40 nettes. Also have 3 boxes of seekers unopened. heheh....

the latest info is not rumor anymore. They are translated from german codex.
so yes, they are 10 points each but they lose a toughness in line with WFB bloodletters.
that explains why the bloodcrushers are only T4 as it only +1T to the rider.

Woooo hoooo!!! more solid rules leak is out!

We can use 1 of the HQ slot to take up to 4 heralds. But only 4 la.
So in 1999 points game or less, i can have a Greater Daemon and 4 Heralds. Smile
