| First off, The book is quite different that the iyanden supplement book. For starters It really changes the tau play style a little. And you are restricted from taking some stuff from the main tau dex.
Fluff wise i am still reading it, but its pretty clear that farsight is not one person but a number of tau have dorn his battle suit, which means the ori dude has died a long time ago.
There are a number alterations when using farsight, crisis suits are troop choices and a farsight army must carry at least 1 unit of them. Any tau unit that has access to bonding knifes must buy them(NOT FREE). There is a new unit which is insanely expansive. Farsight has a special retinue u can opt to take, its call the farsight commander team. Which is a pre selected 7 IC all pretty powerful commanders who join up into one nuclear farsight bomb. its going to cost like 1200 pts to field them and it actually is like its own army... even a special Riptide commander is part of his retinue... Although There is no indicator you cant take it individually as your own HQ tho... owh and the whole army have hatred : orks
There is a new signature systems wargear too which replaces the tau signature systems in the main tau dex for characters, but if you are using a normal farsight retinue you can still give that retinue signature systems from the tau codex as they are a unit not a character.
I am a bit iffy on replacing the whole set of signature systems but this is the bit that will really change the farsight army a little.... still iffy tho... You cant take aunva or shadow sun (for obvious reasons) but it stops short of saying you cant take a normal ethereal... but it would be a bit odd tho, maybe a pissed off ethereal?
New special wargear
Mirrorcodex - you +1 to seizing the initiative. And you get to roll on a special table all friendly units within 6" can get between prefered enemy space marines to prefered enemy everyone depending on what you roll on a d6
Seismic fibrillator node - One use but on a 2+ all open ground becomes dangerous terrain within 36" from the dude with it... on a 5+ it continues to the next turn...
Warscaper drone - nominate one drone in a drone unit now that whole unit has move through cover, outflank, and acute senses, and any unit within 12" from it treats difficult terrain as dangerous terrain. Any enemy outside its deployment zone treats difficult terrain as dangerous terrain.
Fusion blades - in shooting its a twin link fusion gun, in CC its S8, AP1, armourbane, blind
Earth caste pilot - models reroll all 1 to hit in shooting phase and may reroll nova reactor. However WS is 1.. (this is only useful if you take a riptide with a heavy burst cannon i feel)
Talisman of arthas moloch - +5 invul and all friendly units within 12" roll 4 dice for deny the witch instead of 1
New warlord traits 1. warlord got ws5 2. Warlord chooses - counter attack / furious charge / monster hunter / stubborn / tank hunter (confers to his unit too) 3. warlord makes the opponents reserves -1 for a turn 4. warlord is fearless 6" around him is stubborn 5. +1 to reserve rolls for crisis suits 6. for one turn the warlord n unit has shred special rule (ouch!)
There is a whole set of new stratagems for city fight and planetfall. + historic missions x3 | |

| Sounds like it a codex by itself.
Question. Can these supplements be used for tourneys?

| Yes you can use it in tournaments. The supplement remind me of a rogue shogun lol who fark the greater good. And took the most talented earth caste to join up and build their own realm.
There is this pretty messed up bit when the commanders of the second expansion were lobotomised by the order of the ethereals, apparently that is normal... after they are used for their commandeering they get put down by the ethereals i guess it is how they maintain control over the firewarriors... obviously farsight disagreed.

| yea but im iffy on most of the wargear... the drone, talisman, pilot and the fusion blades are oookay but you are swapping all that new unique tech in the main dex tho... so no twinlink commander or ignore cover, pure tide chip... | |

| Hmmm... Sounds very interesting actually... Imagine the missile spans... 6x3 crisis suits with two missile pods each, giving 72 s7 ap4 missiles per turn. N that's only 900+ pts n all scoring | |
