| I thought I would play Eldar, but I was wrong. Made an impulse buy of a Space Wolf Pack one fine day and I'm hooked on how cool the models looked. Still building up, but at the moment what I have is around 750-780 points-ish.
Starting from the Wolf Pack box: 9 vanilla Grey Hunters, 1 of them with Plasmagun 1 Wolf Priest
Then the Thunderwolf Cavalry box: 2 Thunderwolf Cavalry with Plasma pistols 1 Wolf Lord with Power Fist and Wolf Claw
And finally a Space Marine Devastator box, which gave me: 1 Squad Leader with Plasmagun 1 Heavy Bolter 1 Heavy Plasma 1 Multi Melta 1 Missile Launcher
Going to start this slow while waiting for the new codex to show up. Future plans would involve buying Rhinos and Drop Pods, and more wolves. Hopefully the new codex won't change too much so I'll still be able to use the models I've already built.

| Syamael.. we got ourselves a new brother! For Russ!
Space wolves are good, but they need ally to handle flyers and FMC. Maybe that problem will be dealt with when they receive their update. But for now, you may want to consider a C:SM ally.

| I tend to take this slow since the new codex is right around the corner after orks. CSM models and bits fit the SW theme right to a tee though, thanks to all those yummy fur cloaks.
I'm also thinking of converting my Space Hulk termies into wolves with interchangeable bases so I still can enjoy the board game

| I think you can still use the termie bases for the board game, yes? But it's a great idea anyways. I spent a few hours shaving off all those heretic Blood Angels icons to make them Deathwing. I'm sure turning them into Space Wolves would be fun ... pelts, etc. | |

| Anybody got a foolproof and easy way to strip GW plastic? I don't want to permanently screw up my SPace Hulk termies | |

| Here's what I got planned for my 1850 Space wolf list (note, it may not be cost effective whatsoever) HQ: Wolf Priest + Runic Armor + Melta bomb + Saga of the Hunter + Wolf Tail Talisman = 140 Rune Priest + Chooser of the Slain + Runic Armor + Wolf Tail Talisman = 135 Wolf Lord + Thunderwolf Mount + Storm Shield + Wolf Claw + Melta bomb + Saga of Majesty + Wolf Tail Talisman = 225 Troops: Grey Hunter x10 + Plasmagun x2 = 160 + Razorback + Twin-linked lascannons = 75 Blood Claw x15 + Flamer x2 = 225 + Razorback + Twin-linked lascannons = 75 Elites: Wolf Guard x3 + Terminator + Power Fist = 129 Lone Wolf + Terminator + Wolf Claw x2 + Melta bomb = 75 Lone Wolf + Terminator + Thunder Hammer + Storm Shield = 85 Heavy Support: Long Fangs + Heavy Bolter x2 + Lascannon x2 = 145 + Razorback + Twin-linked lascannons = 75 Fast Attack: Thunderwolf Cavalry x5 + Plasma pistol x2 + Melta Bomb x5 = 305 1849 Total I'm not sure how it'll run, but it looks like a blast so far | |

| Interesting. Looks very shooty most of your marines will be on foot, I guess, with cheap razorbacks providing fire support and claiming objectives - 2 of them are actually troops so they still get objective secured. The army would look awesome on table. Just might be a bit too slow | |

| I would agree on them being slow. But the thought of getting "free" FOC heavy fire support was too good to pass up | |

| I got bored. Here's another glass cannon list. More mobility though. Arguably going to cost me the most cash to build.
HQ: Wolf Guard Battle Leader + Thunderwolf mount + Wolf Claw + Storm Shield, Melta bombs = 175 Rune Priest + Terminator + Chosen of the Slain = 130 Wolf Priest + Runic Armour = 120
Troops: 5x Grey Hunters + Plasmagun (2 units) = 320 + Razorback + Twin Linked Lascannons x2
5x Grey Hunters + Flamer (2 units) = 220 + Rhino (or Drop Pod) x2
Elite: 5x Wolf Guard + Terminator + Power Fist x4 + Assault Cannon = 235 (assign to a squad each) Lone Wolf + Terminator + Wolf Claw x2 + Melta bombs= 70 (miscounted the previous one) Lone Wolf + Terminator + Thunder Hammer + Storm Shield = 85
Heavy Support: 5x Long Fangs + Heavy bolter x2 + Lascannons x2 = 220 + Razorback + Twin Linked Lascannons
Fast Attack: 5x Thunderwolf Cavalry + Melta bombs x5 = 275

| Should try this on-table. Glass cannon alright. Looks difficult to use, but I think it will look awesome | |

| Looks good. Except for the LoneWolves lah. I would reduce them to just one, the one with THammer and Storm Shield (or take ChainFist) | |

| Agreed. The Lone Wolves are fillers, mostly based on what models I have left. I've consolidated my entire models and found out that I have 1600+ points!
Troops: Grey Hunter x10 + Plasmagun x2 = 160 Grey Hunter x10 = 150
Dedicated Transport: Razorback w/ Lascannon / Rhino = 75/35
Elite: Wolf Guard Terminators x10 (mostly with Power Fist, 1x Chainfist, 1x Assault Cannon, 1x Thunder Hammer / SS, 1x double Wolf Claws, 1x Heavy Flamer) = 500 Lone Wolf Terminator x1 (the Sergeant Lorenzo model, oh well) = 45 (Or he could be another WGBL for 110 points minimum)
HQ: Wolf Priest, runic armour, melta bomb = 125 Wolf Guard Battle Leader, thunderwolf mount, wolf claw, storm shield, melta bomb = 175 Rune Priest, terminator armour, Chosen of the Slain, Lvl 2 Psyker = 155
Roughly 220 points left, or more if I cut down on some of the wargear and switched the Razorback to a Rhino. As it stands if I maxed out my thunderwolf cavalry and get a drop pod with deathwind missiles, I'm good to go (and only 2 more purchases). But how to arrange them in a good manner is another issue.
