Space Wolves 500pts

Ah.. to late... nvm next time. Surely you can win the next time around

well good to see TKW back in the game

Next time I face a shooty army, need to strip the wolflord's wargear and use it to buy one more Long Fang with heavy weapon. Else I reconfigure thunderwolf cavalry to become 3 thunderwolf lords with runic armour.

What you see in the photo is TKW entire surviving IG army:

3 infantry platoons with 3 autocannons.
2 command squads
1 leman russ

Still very difficult to fit the above into 500pts. Probably this for my all-comers list, but will still struggle against hordes:

Long Fangs (ML x3) - site in the back

Use the thunderlord..move behind cover. Once you reach him.. you will see what he can do.

Good game, Leonard. But I find your model count extremely small, cannot soak casualties at all if you don't get first turn.

Yeah. On hindsight I shouldn't even bother with cover. Just rush in a straight line.

I was saying to Doomboy that my list is weak against hordes... then lo and behold you brought a semi-horde army.

for your build, you have to charge forward, especially into armies like IG and Tau.

TH.. your list is too small. not to mention the GH were nothing but ineffective.
The only way to play GH is with transport.

Canis makes the fenrisian wolves troop choice. Logan makes wolfguard troop choice.

you cant have the same config of spells on the priest even if the wargear are different

Good point - corrected the list.

I guess the only way I can play against most opponents is to split them up into 8 mini units?

That way if anything shoots / assaults them, they can at most kill a small portion of the army.

Finished painting Ragnar. Really nostalgic design, as Mike McVey's tutorial on this and Teclis + Tyrion was my into to mini painting:

Converted and painted a 2nd batch of pre-heresy Grey Hunters. Wonder what the forgeworld ones are going to look like? What with the FW CEO being a SW player and all:

I am starting my Space Wolves also with White scars as their allied unit.
Haven't made the army list yet but you can view the models on my blog.

Best thing about these fur-laden minis is that they are darn easy to paint. Base, wash and highlight saja.

The above list is based on the models I have, and aiming to have a simple, hero-heavy list rather than spam.

-Logan generally goes with Arjac and his Wolf Guard horde (anvil duty)
-Ragnar joins the Grey Hunters (hammer duty)
-Thunderwolves for running around / countercharge
-Rune Priest hangs back with the Long Fangs at the Aegis Defence Line
