Kabal of the Red Spire - Legio Chosen 1500pts

This will be my list to Chosen tournament.

Its not fully Venom spam as I cant afford to field 9 venoms which was my ori plan... But 5 is ok i guess.. Ive learn that my DE needs to move into shooting more so ive taken the risk to go for a shooty mechanized army.

After a few trials with my wyches as grenadiers instead of their normal role as cc unit seems to be paying off. So why not take 20 wyches with 20 haywires on a chariot of fire. I wanted to add my normal archon but I am lacking points, and felt Malys re-deploy d3 units could give me a little more unpredictability for the tournament arena, my incubi will be also be immune to physic powers.

That list has scary amount of fire power.. I dont even know where my killing should begin hahaha.. nice one bro!!

Just a bit of advice on playing DE. Never be too carefull with your units. Push and push and more push. Your guys will die, but you will come out the winner for sure.

yes, fighting joe taught me that bro, first game i played like a marine and suffered second game i played like a shooty khorne berserker and faired slightly better lol...

I kinda like spreading my units firepower to multiples... keeping individual unit cost down making them less attractive as a single unit but scary in a group... kinda something I learn from Kai during the balau days.

Yup.. same here. MSU seems the only way to go with DE unless you're going the Carnival of Flesh. Vehicle explosions in 6th simply make that path more obvious than ever.

Very balanced list. It has both shooting and assault units.
Pray that your Combat drug roll give you a good result for your Wyches.

dude your average shots per turn are 5X the number of models I have on the table! That's scary!

Despite that Pax.. don't.. ever.. underestimate the Longinus Initiative. The 2 Storm Ravens can easily take out 4 vehicles per turn. If all reserves came in on time (including Dante unit), you'll probably lose up to 5 vehicles in the 2nd turn.

thats why i am not that overly excited at my chances... My biggest weakness is the lack of real str weapons in numbers to hurt flyers...

Unless dann hovers no way my grenadiers will be able to hurt him

on hindsight, i should have added more darklight weapons... oh well

I had two games today at legio, my kabal under lady malys did me proud. Played with Arzmi and azim, was a real fun night of gaming tonight!

Game 1 - grey knights vs dark eldar - big guns never tire.
Result - DE won 5-2

Highlights I fired some 450+ shots in 5 turns into his paladins damn those things are tough! Playing with mobility and firepower I focus some 70% of my shots per turn to wipe his pally squads. My venoms circle around the paladins firing non stop, By turn 5 only 3 paladins were left standing. It was super tiring, Paladins got 2 wounds each meaning i technically killed the equivalent of 34 terminators in 5 turns.... INSANE! Arzmi admitted his biggest mistake was putting half of his paladins in reserve... That gave me time to focus fire one squad at a time. Something I doubt he would do again vs me.

Brought back draigo and the 17 paladins and two of those walker things to the dark city.



Game 2 - blood angels vs dark eldar - big guns never tire.
Result - DE won 5-1

Highlights I concentrated taking out his two land raiders which made the bulk of his range firepower I played very aggressively flying my venoms at breakneck speed in turn 1 knowing the venoms were useless vs the pair of land raiders... By turn 3 I wreck both raiders one by my 5 men Wych squad and another via the twin ravagers whom lance it to bits... With full command of long range firepower, it was a turkey shootout mauling the marines thru concentrated fire by circling them while firing volley after volley of poison darts. His death company n memphiston could not get into charge range as the shards flew from every direction (literally), by turn 5 the marines had 5 models on the board, 2 tact marines, 1 death company, 1 memphiston with two wounds left, and the storm raven. The wyches charge a furiso dreadnaught which they down thanks to their haywire grenades. By turn 6 the BA had only a storm raven with one remaining hull point.

Verdict

This army is awesome! Their mobility lets them bunch up into one huge hailstorm of poison darts where i want to hit hard at. The trueborn squad is the real MVP they dish out 16 poison shots and 3 disintegrator shots per turn. Not bad for a 6 men crew! My wyches really stood out vs the BA knowing I had superior numbers I blitz in turn one giving him a massive target rich environment, ensuring in the following turn the wyches will be ready to charge and take out azim armour. Just a taught the army would have shot some 1000+ poison shards in two games.

not that scary la... seriously they may have serious firepower but they are fragile like mad... a bolter can down any vech i own. A squad rapid firing will definitely down a venom for sure.

You have so many anti-tanks.. but almost nothing to handle crowds

dunno bout that... But i got 135 venom shots, 24 venom 3+, 15 haywires, 9 dissi shots, 9 blaster shots. 6 lances, 2 void lances, 1 mine.

Need to try it out against a horde... usually foot men staying 36 away give me time to whittle down the opponent granted i lack templates but i think I can do what i did to arzmi to others too.

i could swap the void raven for a razorwing with 10 pts xtra i can get the 2+ poidon large blast missiles x2
