Tau Army list - reboot

I need Tau Cadre names... been bugging me all day cuz I totally forgot what I thought of a few years ago. It should scream 'Tau Supremacist' or 'Evil Nazi Tau'...

I thought I would have a hard time remembering this list... but it was bloody easy to remember!

Why 3x2 Crisis?
Instead of 2X3?

I'm still debating on the 3X2 or 2X3 thing...

3X2
-benefits most from markerlights
-allows more focussed fire
-but if they run, they all run
-with random fall back distance and random assault distances, i could get a whole unit of 3 stuck in combat
-overwatch is more dangerous than 2X3


2X3
-can target more units
-more units for opponents to worry about
-if i want to deepstrike, i got three units to play with (3 reserve rolls, 3 potential targets)
-weaker (duh)
-more KP

You read the TAU markerlight rumor? Sounds nice and appropriate, giving Skyfire to friendly units. Still need to hit on 6 though.

And it can look really good too! I always think of Tau as the closest to contemporary weapons and tactics.

Why no Stealth Suits?
With Stealth and Shroud rule, they benefit from 2+ cover save in any terrain.
6 Stealth Suits in terrain can give you a nice 18 burst cannon shots.

Hi Doc, the only thing I dun like about Stealth suits is they are anti-light infantry. And people seem to be heading towards more elite infantry.

Also, Firewarriors fulfill the role of anti-light infantry quite well...

I think firewarriors fufill that role very well.. not to mention also good light anti tank shootin. rapid fire at 15inches lol

So I was thinking... 'How do I make my Tau more shooty?'

I found my answer in another codex! Old + old = NEW! Behold Tau + Eldar!

PS: There's no way in hell I can imagine Eldar helping the inferior Tau, so I thought of these Eldar additions as 'Tau specialist units' and to make it even more Tau-ish, I'm not gonna include funky things like psychic powers or Exarchs. This gives me a lot of room for funky conversions too!

Do the Eldar benefit from the markerlight?

24 shots from the flank on turn 2 is gonna be a huge trouble while dealing with multiple Crisis at the same time.

What is the damage output and range of the Crisis?

@Doc - nope, they don't benefit from markerlights. But it's a worthwhile sacrifice...
Warwalkers give a huge number of shots + outflank,

Pathfinders got really long range AP2s, Infiltrate and are Troops... (I don't think they got Precision Shots yet, lousy Sniper rule is parked under Sniper Rifles...),

And I can deep-strike the Crisis, put my Broadsides in reserve, outflank the warwalkers in the surety that they arrive on a 2+ if I need them to, thanks to the Autrach.


Crisis Suits basically have a Plasma Gun each, minus 1S. Also can dish out 2 S7 missiles at a 36inch range.

So basically each model has S6 AP2 Rapid Fire + S7 AP(?) Assault 2..
Wow.. It has been 3/4 years since I last fought Tau, forgot how scary their firepower is.

My DE and WE would have a hard fought game against this. But I believe my Necrons are gonna tapau you bro.

all shooty army is weak against Necrons wan la... so is a given.

Not necessarily true.. My Necrons are weak against multiple blast of any size. And this list is lacking in that area.

i have yet to see your necron army lost to a shooty army be it multiple blast of any size.

Put it this way: I have no answer to wraiths but i think i've pretty much covered everything else.

Just keep shooting S8 or above shots at the wraiths. that should works. or mass fire shots from the fire warriors. 3+ to wound them.

Sadly, Tau do not have many S8 or higher weapons... only the Railgun. I have four on the list.

I was considering exchanging all the Scatter Lasers on my warwalkers for missile launchers...
