| I bought an Eldar Farseer model on a whim (since it just came into stock and there's only 2 of them) and.... it whispers sweet seductive suggestions of an army with the rest of his friends that very night. I'm pretty much screwed, but I'll take building this army slowly with my High Elves coming in first. I really liked the lore of the Harlequins and how they come from the Black Library and randomly show up to cause/fix havoc in times of unseen need, so instead of a specific Craftworld, I'm going to theme my army straight from the chaotic webways itself. I don't have a full list for a 1850 army yet, but I figured a Harlequin army would be filled with footsloggers and some really fast elements. So off the top of my head: Farseer (an Autarch acting as the Solitaire would be awesome here, but nothing is as awesome as the Solitaire so we'll leave him/her/it alone as the ever mysterious fluff bunny). This is the first and only model I own Warlock Council (might do a head swap of some kind). Probably maxed out and kitted with Singing Spears. Storm Guardians with upgrades. Painted to look very Harlequin-ish, they're kinda like Troupe Adepts in training before they graduate (survive) to become full fledged Harlequins. Guardian Jetbikes. Maybe a couple of small squads to race for objectives. Harlequins. As maxed out and tricked out as possible. Dark Reapers. Death Jesters who band up and change their weapons because they think they're cool like that. That's what I have for a fluffy core at the moment. I'll flesh out as I go along but suggestions are most definitely welcomed. | |

| Okay, I more or less know what I generally want, but still a bit unsure about the points (which I'll find out later). Going for a mixed units route because I really like the look of the flyers and tanks as well, but in small doses. One thing I'm not going to do is Wave Serpent spamming. HQ: Farseer, Warlock council, all with lascannons Singing Spears. Troops: Storm Guardians, Guardian Defenders, Guardian Jetbike. Elites: Harlequin, Striking Scorpions, Banshees Fast: Crimson Hunter, Warp Spiders, Swooping Hawks Heavy: Nightspinner, Fire Prism, Dark Reapers These are just what I like based on the looks. Not sure if it'll be viable points wise but I'm sure I'll have fun trying to figure them out

| Caaan..
The closest to Eldar in terms of speed and firepower (but not survivability) that I have is Dark Eldar. I can prepare a list for you and if you're free on Sat/Sunday can come try 40k for yourself.
Our WFB session this Friday, isit still going?

| I suddenly took a fancy towards the Iybraesil Craftworld (matriarchal society feturing Banshees). My only issue so far is the inclusion of the Howling Banshee unit itself. Is there a way to make a list featuring them to be at least halfway survivable in the local scene? | |

| are you into fluff or effective on the table - cause if its effective on the table they have some issues. primarily they cant charge out of a vehicle (every cc unit has that prob) except to some extent the DE and also that their weapons are AP3 | |

| I'm more of a fluff guy, but having them to at least be able to kill something before they die to horrible horrible shooting would be nice :)What sticks like a sore thumb is that I can't attach Warlocks to them and they have no grenades >.< But I love their fluff and model. | |

| Hahahaha tempting! :Dbanshee mask gives the other guy a -5 initiative in cc, min 1.
I like the Raider idea, though not so familiar with its rules. Can guys disembark and charge on the same turn with them?

| IIRC, raiders are open-topped and all open-topped vehicles are assault vehicles. | |

| only prob is when you charge into an enemy unit they will strike the same time as you AE my firewarriors can fight back! A good workaround is of course allying with your evil kin and get a archon with that plasma backpack that way now your banshee will strike first. You can mod the archon like a banshee prob make the whole banshee unit looking more evil like | |

| The problem with the idea is that units cannot embark allied vehicles. So it isn't valid to begin with.
Archon sharing Grenades is another option but the whole unit must be on foot lah.

| So that just leaves me with..... infantry horde and hope some of them make it to wreak havoc. Bahah. An army full of as many Banshees as possible would be interesting to see though. At least it has that WTF factor when it hits the table | |
