Pax, the Riptide, if it is attached with Shielded Missile Drones, can they be joined by an IC (either a Tau HQ or Eldar HQ or SM HQ?)

yes you can. Although I would not propose using those shielded drones its super expansive 25 pts per drone max 2

and yes you can add the tau hq dude who gives it reroll hits and ignore cover to the riptide. Some ppl do that

i dont think that's a good investment though... since all you need to ignore cover are two markerlights...

Questions on cover removal. Let say you used up 2 markerlights to remove cover for a unit A:
i) will that Ignore Cover thing apply to all Tau shooting at unit A or just one unit?
ii) can ally benefit from the Ignore Cover thing?

Thing is you are better off sending a number of marker light hits on a target n give the riptide the +BS and - cover. For example my commander has 6-8 BS5 markerlights. say 6 hit on the target I can give - cover and BS 7 on that riptide to avoid scattering too much OR give both my riptides - cover and BS4 for my riptide.

That commander punya gadgets are best if he is deep striking with a group of crisis suits give them all reroll and remove cover. Like 12 plasma shots with reroll and remove cover.

just one unit la.. cannot la so op. Those marker lights are tokens, u remove tokens if a unit wants to use the marker light abilities. Marker lights tokens do not go away tho so ur next turn u can use the balance if there is any.

I dont think allies can use those markerlights. Urm eldar n SM dont have good optics n sensors But I think bole just need to ask the rulehammer guys. Cause I dont use allies so far with my tau.

Did some changes the tetra new data sheet now tetras are 35pts but lose +1 cover n heavy4 marker lights now its heavy 2 Twinlink. We will see this Friday how they will fair. There are lots of seekers in this list wanna try them again.

What's a seeker?

Question. Basic rules says models with Skyfire always Snap Fire when shooting at ground target unless they have Interceptor.

Say Riptide take Velocity Tracker without Early Warning Override, will the rules apply? Should be lah kan but is there anything in the Tau codex that says otherwise?

No cause tau dex say you can activate any weapon to have skyfire. So if ur not shooting a flyer u can off it. Skyfire is a support system not the weapon upgrade for the tau. Ala macam installed software into their battlr systems la

Seekers are like hunter killers str8 ap3 one shot with marker light its bs5 ignore cover no need LOS. Without markerlight its bs3 needs LOS to target.

So the real answer is once the model choose to use skyfire rule, all his weapons will be affected.

but since you got interceptor you can fire 1 weapon like the ion cannon against a flyer. then the following turn in ur shooting phase use another weapon and fire normally.

Had an epic game vs nahri DE n eldar alliance yesterday. I did a fundamental mistake when I kinda put all three troop units almost unsupported as bait although it did work and kept the eldar bz long enough for my big guns to decimate his key units I kinda felt I should have kept one in reserve. Non the less the tau won last nights matchup. TY to nahri for that awesome epic fight!

Some epic moments
Turn1 - tau - 6 markerlight hits on the wraithknight, gave it 4 wounds from 6 seeker (I rolled two 1 when the seekers were trying to hit it) Wraithknight down to 2 wounds in the first volley. Both riptides fired indirect barrage Nahri amazingly manage to roll 5+ invul on 4 pens 1 glances on 2 venoms n the ravager. Only one pen when thru shaking the ravaged

Turn1 - DE - DE moved up cautiously, shooting phase was rather dismal lost a few warriors but vehicle still ok.

Turn2 - tau - realizing my mistake I begun to pull my ethereal unit back. The broadsides were now in range and dispatched the Wraithknight in one volley of S7 swarm of missiles something like 16 hits > 7 wounds on it. One riptides fired their indirect barrage again nahri manage to roll his invul, firewarriors open fire glancing the ravager down to 1 hp, second firewarrior unit down the archons venom.

Turn2 - DE - his crimson,  Razorwing, and scorpions came in.I use interceptor on him and again SMS downed the crimson fighter, the razorwing did its invul save vs a seeker shot. nahri begun to put some real hurt on me, he down my ethereal devilfish, wiped half of my middle fire warrior unit,  and toyed with my other firewarrior unit, almost wiped one of my pathfinder unit one guy remaining and also down a tetra.

Turn3 - tau - most of my main units were unable to shoot cause they intercept the previous turn. Remaining firewarriors were doing their best to hold the line. My crisis suits arrived this turn. The crisis suits n the toyed firewarriors wiped a guardian unit that arrived out of a serpent the previous turn. My last stand firewarriors took down the second venom leaving onlynone venom left. Mainly used turn 3 to reposition some of my units to push back the eldar.

Turn3 - DE - scorpions epically failed at shooting but non the less wiped the firewarriors in cc with ease, his razorwing wiped my ethereal unit and the rest of the eldar alliance wiped the crisis unit.

Turn4 -Tau - The two riptides overcharge their secondary weapons to ensure the eldar would not win. In a tempest of anger. The riptides almost wiped all of nahri remaining troops one of them  was nicely bunkered in with no LOS for me but tau tech made sure that won't be an issue. The hammerhead shot down the another venom leaving the archon without a ride again. Broadsides down the serpent, My last stand firewarriors tried to flee to the tau main gun line but rolled badly on getting out of cover and badly again for running.

In an epic move, my skyray shot down the razorwing but the wych pilot did a kamikaze move on the skyray and crash into it blowing both up in amazing turn of events...

Turn4- eldar - by now what was remaining was a farseer with one de warrior, the scorpions, archon with 4 incubi and the ravager. The ravager moved up to try to take down the riptide, scoring two wounds on it leaving 2 more. Archon and incubi charge and wiped the last stand firewarriors.

Turn5 -tau - the broadsides open up on the archon amazingly one incubi saved 16 s7 shots from 17 I fired with markerlight supoort. The brosdsides sms however ended his luck as they were wiped to the man. My opponent conceded.
