My take on commander farsight. My farsight bomb relies Less on Instant killing but Doing surgical strikes The whole unit will get the sensor suits support but I would think their non scatter deepstrike will allow me to position them to meet the ongoing table demands. I gave it missiles to allow them to fire at range since Deepstriking so close to the enemy sometimes can be very much the end of the farsight bomb. I am also trying to keep the points low so that It does not be too much of a burden for my army. Rest of the army sticks to what I have so that I can cross over with out buying more minis.

Some farsight update.

The new supplementary codex farsight enclaves will be out this Saturday digitally there are 3 different mediums the first is from black library which is selling the codex for 20 pounds it is an incrypted pdf, release 20th this month. Ibooks selling the digital enhance one with some multimedia features is 25 pounds release on the 20th too. The hardcover is due out in october! 30pounds.

Its quite different than the iyanden book cause the farsight one has an army list. You can field a full suit army which is min 3 max 5 but got some restrictions to some units in the tau dex like no ethereal. Got a new character, and gear, one of the unique gear allows one unit to double its shots one per game. Some new drone etc.

No 100% confirmation but apparently farsight enclave cannot ally with anyone. They are and isolationist group whom are xenophobic anything apart from tau. So sorry if you guys were thinking of a full suit army.

Fluff it supposedly expands on the farsight saga. Apparently there has been two dozen commanders donning the farsight suit. Meaning he is more of an idea that a living person now. Which helps explain how could a tau live for 300 yrs. (normal tau life span is 40 human years), It also explains that farsight is becoming more and more popular for descented tau firewarriors. As many question the ethereal mandates. Which is quite in align to some of the new tau hq like cadre fireblade, and the pathfinder hq guy, whom both are not really in the good books with the ethereal's

Lol it took me a while to realize the basic pulse rifle is basically a heavy bolter ^^ especially if u add fireblade into a full fire warrior unit 24 s5 shots at 30" n 36 shots at 15"

Made my first list. Its quite challenging suddenly to not be able to take those fancy support systems from the main tau dex.. But I kinda feel this army feels more rugged and like old school of sorts. I am avoiding using farsight for now.

I must admit it feels kinda cool and very to the fluff with the Farsight enclave, I have to make do with what they have. Commander Redstorm and retinue is quite funky they got outflank, acute senses, Move thru cover and the vibrating ground thing. With 4 marker drones at bs 5 hopefully They can act Independently from the rest.

Notice there is no heavies?




Tau Farsight Enclave 1850pts

HQ: Commander RedStorm + Burst Cannon x2 + Drone Controller + 1 (Warscaper Marker Drone, Outflank, Move thru cover, Acute Senses) + Marker Drone x2
