I tested a different variant of my Daemons using Daemonettes of Slaanesh and Screamers of Tzeentch vs Dann's Grotesque DE yesterday.

Here's my list:
Fateweaver (Warlord)
Lord of Change
- 1 Exalted Reward
- 1 Greater Reward
- Mastery Level 3
10 Plaguebearers
- Instrument
- Plagueridden
10 Daemonettes
- Instrument
- Plagueridden
10 Flesh Hounds of Khorne
9 Screamers of Tzeentch
Skull Cannon of Khorne
Soul Grinder
- Daemon of Slaanesh
- Baleful Torrent
Daemon Prince of Tzeentch
- Flight
- Armour
- 1 Exalted Reward (default for Grimoire of True Names)
- 1 Greater Reward
- Mastery Level 3

Basically i swapped a unit of Plaguebearers for a unit of Daemonettes. But had to sacrifice 2 units of 8 Hounds for just 9 Screamers. Extra points pump the remaining 8 hounds unit to 10 hounds.
And the last change is to have my LoC carrying an exalted reward, testing the Portalglyph.

Some thoughts on the units and the game.

1. LoC early dumped the Portalglyph ensured I didn't have to worry about keeping my troops alive as they will come... eventually.

2. Daemonettes deepstriked on the enemy's backfield and could quickly get into position. I'm beginning to like them already! Very Happy

3. Totally forgotten my Soul Grinder got Harvester Cannon which has skyfire. That allowed the Jetfighter loose for 3 rounds of shooting while I just kept moving and running towards his Grotesques. Maybe I should just deepstrike the Soul Grinder instead.

4. Screamers was a mixed results. They managed to slashed a Talos down to 1 wound but got charged by 2 Talons in retaliation. After 4-5 rounds of combat, the Screamers won! All thanks to me rolling double 1 for Daemonic Instability check for them not once but twice! lolz. Should have seen the look on Dann's face. Classic! Very Happy

5. Must remember to roll for Biomancy instead of Telepathy for my DP next time as Enfeeble will make short work against the Grotesque using the Skull Cannon. Smile

The changes are having the LoC carrying the Portalglyph. I just got a Vortex Grenade and it looks too cool not to play it as my Portalglyph. Taking a unit of Daemonettes is meant to add additional pressure to the enemy's back field as how I get to experience it on the last game vs Dann.

Their rending could easily take down Wraithknights/Riptides alike. They are the only unit with Icon too.

The strategy here is to have Daemonettes, Plaguebearers and Soul Grinder in reserves deepstriking. Roll for Daemonnetes first. If they come in, their Instrument allow Soul Grinder to auto come in. Then the icon will ensure the Soul Grinder not scatter. Very Happy
If I fail to bring the Daemonnetes in, then I will opt to roll for Plaguebearers first, getting 2nd chance to auto bring in the Soul Grinder on 2nd turn but with risk of him scattering of course.

The portalglyph was fun but it dropped the survivability of the LOC greatly without another greater gift.

That being said, here's my 1500pts list that I'll be playing at Spartan.

Bro.. As much as I like the idea of using Vortex Grenades as Portalglyph, I think better not use the Vortex as Portalglyph lah. Thanks to true LOS and WYSIWYG, people can now easily have LOS to it. Better to use the small template as suggested by the book.

Your Spartan list is strong. Daemons always works better in 1Malaysia theme. Mine will struggle against yours I think.

Tournament over! So back to 1850pts. Have a new list to utilize all the old screamers that I have but have to build 2 Tzeentch Heralds on disks first. Probably use my Bluescribes model as a Herald carrying the Grimoire.

On a roll of 4+, it will spawn D6 of these daemons --> Plaguebearers, Daemonettes, Bloodletters or Horrors. They came exactly as unit disembarking from vehicles. No proxy allowed, so if you don't have enough models. That's it lah.

Horrors are the best lah because can shoot. Plaguebearers good for objective grabbing. Daemonettes are fast and can reach objective real quick. I just stick with the theme and take Bloodletters all the way.

Don't think I need the portalglyph since I have fateweaver to control the warpstorm (higher chances to get free troop from there) and will be pointless in KP game as the other default or exalted rewards are more beneficial to a combat oriented bearer.

So thinking of cutting some extra points and making both DP mastery level 3. This is really a heavy psychic army with 1 lvl 4 psyker and 4 lvl 3 psykers. Twisted Evil

why dun u down the cheese level and drop daemonettes, plaguebearers and flesh hounds? take more Tzeentchian stuff and make it a full Tzeentch army instead. that will be cool.
