tried a short game vs Blee using this list since the screamers have not arrived.

His list was pretty scary too. 10 termies, 2 rifle dreads, 2 typhoon land speeders, 2 squads of missles devastators. that's like 16 S8 and 8 S7 shooting damage output every turn!

Due to his lack of AA weaponry, my FMC managed to cause heavy casualties to him from shooting and vector striking before committing to assault.

Didn't get to test my Slaanesh DP though because it got mishap and died upon arrival. Else I would have all those 10 termies clump up together for a fine serving of Breath of Chaos. Smile)

new screamers and flamers rule are both in the new White Dwarf. Go google and find out more. Wink

basically they are now more nasty and much more playable.

since my Daemons can't really handle Flyers and my Orks list has Chaos Renegades as ally, might as well change my daemon list to have the same ally as well to handle flyers.

The IG ally is not good. In fact the original list with 5 FMC was even better.
And due to the small model count, if I ever fail my ground test, the MC is as good as dead. So need to re-tweak my list.

I think the Daemon Princes will be better than the Soul Grinder beacuse it is quite easy to kill tanks now. The previous games you had also the DP put in work right. Not counting the game against Soo Kai where you just stood infront of a Marine gunline =.=

too much points dy the DP. like that day, only 1 DP died and half of my army felt crippled dy.
the soulgrinders are much cheaper allowing me to take a unit of 4 flamers. not to mention the soulgrinders have 5+ inv saves. will be providing fire support with their 36" S8 AP3 Large Blasts. Smile

Okay, after reading the blight drones rules, they are a bit better at taking down flyers with their Reaping Autocannons but at BS2. lolz.
They are still good at taking down anything non-flyers with their S8 AP3 large blast.
Better than nothing right?

So what to remove? After much consideration, instead of removing the soul grinders for them as they have the same weaponry, i thought to remove the bloodthirster instead. The army will be able to throw 4 S8 AP3 large blast templates around.

So the list will be like:

yea, daemons are usually MEQ killers but suffer heavily from the unpredictability of the dice as compared to normal standard army.

1st we got need to roll for 3+ to get our preferred half wave out.
2nd we need to deepstrike well into positions and also not to mishap.
3rd we don't have any 2+ armour saves with majority of the army is on 5++ saves only.

Found out in FAQ that I can't pavane to move a unit then only resolve the breath of chaos.

So a bit pointless for my Slaanesh DP to have both pavane and breath.
Tweaking him to be a more fighty DP.
If he's not in combat, he should always be Vector Striking with his S6 and shoot Pavane for other DP to use breath of chaos. Smile

If I'm not wrong, that S6 is becaused of Unholy Might. It wasn't mentioned in the FAQ, and I dont have the Daemon codex so I really dont know how the rules for Unholy Might was written. But when Vector Striking, we always use unmodified Strength at AP3. So for Daemon Princes, shouldn't it be S5 instead?

Now if my Bloodthirster with Unholy Might performs a Vector Strike, should it be resolved at unmodified S7 or unholy S8?

unholy might adds to the profile and unlike weapons like let's say power fist modify the S x 2.

so the answer is S6 for my DP and S8 for your bloodthirster. Smile

Another variant of the list instead of the expensive DPs, taking cheap Soul Grinders to support afar with its 36" S8 AP3 big blast.
And have a double team Lord of Change with Fateweaver taking down any flyers and providing support. Got some points to spare for a small flamers squad.

Tried this list yesterday against Su Kai's UM.

Mission Kill Point.
Deployment Vanguard.
Got my preferred wave which are Fateweaver, Masque, 2 DP, Screamers.
Screamers turbo-boosted near Fateweaver so that they can re-roll their 4+ cover saves.
Su Kai had problem taking down the FMC. His Stormtalon alpha striked in and dealt lots of wounds on 1 of the DP but he saved it all. lol
My saves were quite good to be honest. So the game didn't go well for Su Kai.


Highlights:
- Masque came in and failed to pavane anything significant cause its only BS4. I kept getting 2 or 1. lol. Then at 1 turn when there were 2 flamers near the ruin where the devastator squad and thunderfire cannon were in, the pavane moved the whole devastator squad into 1 packed sardine in 1 floor and moved the thuderfire cannon off the ruin outside for my screamers to assault. Nothing survived the flames on that floor. After that, the Masque was gunned down by the Stormtalon. But he definitely made back his points. lol.
- Couldn't kill the Stormtalon on the following turn it came in also because my Bolt of Tzeentch kept getting 1 or 2 when rolling for armor penetration. lol. Only managed to kill it at 1 turn when it was hovering. Smile
- Screamers were in position to assault the termies squad in turn 2 but failed the charge distance. So didn't get to see much action there. They are still good to take care of anything that are left from the breath of chaos from my Fateweaver, 2 DP and 6 flamers.
- The amount of damage output from both the 2 landspeeders with Assault Cannons and Heavy Bolters are crazy. Have to be my 1st priority target next time.
