Whoah.. this is much nicer than before.
Still so scary with so many AP1/2 weapons but at least my WE or Raven Guard can still give up a good fight.

Don't wanna try the R'Varna with the list?

The Skyray missiles are S8 AP3 One Shot right?

yea skyray seekers are 1 shot weapons but got 6 la can fire all 6 at once. Without markerlight support.

R'Varna boleh masuk this list just need to swap the broadside team since they cost the same.

You yourself mention this list will do a lot of deepstriking and I foresee a lot of movement on table. Knowing where to deepstrike, to walk the thin line between risk and reward. It became more tactical and engaging compared to the gunline type of most Tau army.

this list has more firepower and more balance than your previous 2 riptides list.
i like the fireblades, able to split fire markerlight and yet provide the max squad of firewariors pouring out double shots.

then you have your drop and kill units which gives you mobility and not to mention they are troop choices too.

not so sure about the broadsides with rail guns. if me, I would prefer all missiles and have them focusing on infantry/light vehicles killing.

since you got only 1 riptide, always nova charge for 3++ and act as meat shield in case enemies get too close to your other static gun line units.

i see that you have XV84 battlesuit joining the commander. what's the FW rules for it? if like that, how the commander able to join the broadsides unit giving them combo abilities?

eh sorry its missiles not rail forgot to swap them but they are free anyway

The FW suit is a network markerlight + target lock. I am using it as another BS5 markerlight it can also markerlight a flyer and get my broadsides to fire at it at BS2 reroll misses and also has tank hunter from the puretide chip

but the commander and the FW battlesuit sounds like an easy target la. maybe should remove the FW battlesuit, have your commander joins the broadsides unit.

he is in the broadside team think of him like a broadside commander

From the dex -
Networked markerlights are a specialised version of the standard markerlight system (see left) . When a unit with one
or more networked markerlights makes a Shooting attack, the networked markerlights are always fired first. Once the shotsfrom the networked markerlights are resolved, the unit can then fire their other weapons. This means that (unlike otherunits) they can expend markerlight counters placed fromtheir own networked markerlights in order to benefit their other weapons.

So for the broadside team the commander will shoot his marker first at BS5 then the token will be used by the broadside team. They also gain any puretide chip bonuses

Sorry maybe a bit confusing. Your list has this:

* Commander
Advanced targeting system, Crisis battlesuit, Early warning override, Puretide Engram Neurochip, Twin-linked missile pod, Velocity tracker, XV8-02 Crisis 'Iridium' Battlesuit
* XV84 battlesuit [FW]
Networked markerlight, Target lock

The impression here is that there are 2 models. The commander and the FW model battlesuit. If your commander already joins with this FW model battlesuit, how can he join the broadside team?

its not a separate suit its an upgrade for the commander. You can take the iridium + the sensor gear as well its listed under signature systems

fluff wise it will be called XV84-02 suite Razz

oh... didn't know about the FW rules for the XV84 battlesuit model which can be used as your commander gaining access to all the other signature systems and gears.

basically the fw suit is just for the markerlight and targetlock bundle

If nak simplify

Commander

Signature systems
+ FW upgrade - Network markerlight + targetlock
+ Irridium armour
+ Puretide chip

Support Systems
+ Interceptor
+ skyfire

Weapon
+ Missile pod

quite mahal kay the guy he is 185pts

Its legal cause I only have 3 support/weapon systems and signature systems got no limit except every army only can have 1 of each

anyone took notice at the new Tau formation release today? for the :Tau Firebase Support cadre?

Basically its 40k approved and to activate its formation ability you need x2 Broadside teams of 3 guys each and one riptide to give them all tank hunter.

Although it sounds broken I am not too sure how useful it would be tho I tried building the cadre to this -

x3 broadsides + High Yield missile pods + SMS + Early warning override + 6 missile drones
x3 broadsides + Heavy Rail Rifle + SMS + Target Lock + 4 Shield Drones
x1 Riptide + Ion + Early Warning override + Skyfire

that comes up to 750pts which in a 1850pts is 40% of your total point expenditure. do you think its cost effective just to get tank hunter? Mind you the whole army is 7 models or 17 if you count the drones...


Anyway fear not to the non tau peeps, GW is releasing data sheets for fantasy and 40k in the next few days
