Phew!
I think it's time I did a few battle summaries. Many had doubts over the small number of models I have for 1500pts... but so far, it's been very fun
Vs Joe's Mega Shooty Orks - Mission 6: Relic.
The highlights -
Dante and SGuards deep-struck, destroyed 1 Battlewagon.
Then Dante and SGuards split and destroyed two more Battlewagons.
From just 1 round of shooting from Lootaz, 1 Stormraven was blown off the sky! See, flyers aren't all that!
3 Dakka Jets have CRAZY amount of shots! Thankfully, 2+ armour proved its worth - very few SGuards fell due to sheer firepower.
The 2nd Stormraven came in and blew 2 Dakka Jets from the sky in 1 turn. Power to Power of the Machine Spirit!
By game's end, there was only 1 Dakka Jet and a few boyz left (I can't really rmbr) and I had firstblood and kill the warlord - the Orks were routed!
Vs Alvin's Dark Eldar - Mission 6: Relic.
Highlights -
Archon challenged Assault Sergeant with Thunderhammer. Archon didn't wound him. Sergeant scored two hits. 1 was ignored by Clonefield, the other smashed the Archon's head in!
3 Ravagers went down in 1 turn, as Dante, SGuard unit and Stormraven came in and blasted all three. I thought that was the end of my anti-tank worries until...
Alvin forgot his Bloodbrides had Haywire Grenades! I let my Stormraven hover cuz I thought there wasn't a threat!
Anyway it got swatted outta the sky - too, too easily!
Dante saved a crazy number of shots, but was eventually done in by 1 Blast Pistol. He failed to 'Look out, sir!' and could not pull a SGuard in the way of the shot.
20 Dark Eldar Warriors + Duke Sliscus charging into SGuards! Wow! Crazy number of attacks, thankfully no SGuard was harmed in the process! hahaha!
When the game ended, we were sure Alvin had won, cuz we both killed the warlord and he had firstblood. I had the Relic, but we thought the Relic was dropped immediately when engaged in combat (turns out, that's not the case... is it?) Anyway, if I have the Relic I would win (4-2), otherwise, it would be his win (2-1).
Vs Jaivin's Necrons - Mission (3?): Big guns never tire
Failure to communicate led us to have a 1750 vs 1500pts game... In consolation, I was allowed to deepstrike an additional 230pts on Turn 4
oh wells... still a fun game anyhow.
Annihilation Barge and Tomb Stalker died very quickly due to Dante and Stormraven.
MSS was a pain! Turning my own uber-powered guys on themselves! Luckily the big 20 warrior + overlord and 2 lords was quickly wiped out by mass wounds and a failed Ld check. The 2 lords stayed on and remained a pain though...
Lightning field is a b*tch too! Killed 3 SGuards just like that!
I think I'm never gonna charge any Royal Court units ever again. Just gonna hang back and shoot.
Tomb Spider died an embarrassing S4 death - two wounds from angelus bolt guns and 1 wound from charging a lone SGuard! S4 FTW!
2 Stormravens fell in a single turn... I got careless and decided to hover them... BIG MISTAKE!
We thought the game ended in a draw - We controlled 1 objective each, i had first blood, but he had killed my warlord. Later on, I realized... it was still a draw but the VP total wasn't 2-2. It was 4-4, cuz both my Stormravens awards VP, and so did his Tomb Spider and Annihilation Barge.
Vs Shaun's Crimson Fist - Mission 6: Relic (AGAIN! - I swear my BA are searching for some long forsaken relic!)
6 Shooty Termies fell to the combined charges of SGuards and Assault Squad - 15 wounds were dealt at Ini4, and 3 Termies fell! Now that's how you get rid of 2+ armour save! 2 more fell to PFist and THammer, and the lone Sergeant ran off the table.
Dante came in, destroyed the Pred. Stormraven came in, destroyed the Landspeeder (my army usually gets the jump on opponents
)
Kantor and PFist SGuard fisted each other to death (yuck I know, sorry)...
After that, it was only a simple matter of mopping up - the vanilla marines didn't stand a chance to SGuards.
TAed the army (including fortification!) on Turn 4! Woot! A good game indeed!
