Make it like that Biovore lah.. Something living that can spit death at opponent. Things like that fit Coven very well.

The only flyers that you should worry about is Baledrake.. The rest you can ignore.

Hm... i'll consider building it once i figure out what my shadow weavers are gonna look like... and how I'm gonna build them using DE parts.

Well after many months of not playing, and many crushing defeats, I think I'm gonna go back to basics. I wanted to build this army to field a giant blob of grotesques, so I'm gonna field a giant blob of grotesques. And I've added some elements to support with the anti-air and anti-tank, so no more list-revisions (I hope).

Sometimes can fight wraithknights, sometimes cannot fight SM scouts...

But I must use them. I MUST! hahaha...

I might swap the Razorwing's FF for NS. Seems to be more protective against short-ranged weapons.
And am swapping a venom blade for haywire grenades for the trueborn, so they are actually a threat to vehicles hahaha...

The Scouts were a one time thing lar don't be too worried about it lol. Seriously though Splinter Cannon Scourge's!!!

Got tapaued by Shaun 3/3 games this week. Maybe my de are horrible against his current list. Oh well. Good lessons learnt though, so hopefully I can wrack up some wins over the weekend. Thansk for the games, Shaun. And your contemptor is broken!

For the razorwing.. If you want NShield I'd suggest you swap with the Splinter Cannon and keep the Flicker.

Haha no problem gotta get you into shape for the tourney bro. You better place well or I'll be mad!!! Lol and not really he only kena Rad Grenade once and that once in the first game. Second game in reserve trying to get through Webway Portal never come in then last game came through but lost combat and got swept by the surviving Captain. The bikes got killed by the Talos's. Stupid me for charging them. Talking about the big unit of Grotesque's. If they were fearless Dann would have won haha The Contemptor is only broken cause you missed 80% of your Dark Lance shots and only did something with like....30% of them lol.

Two huge mistakes in last night's game.
1) The non-fearless grotesque blob. Ugh. So used to having Fearless that I totally forgot that as a DE I need to earn it!
2) My aberration should have accepted the challenge from your captain. More attacks than a Haemonculus, 4+ to wound and rerollable for equal S to T, and with outnumbering I could have had one re-roll to your armour saves. Final mention is the fact that you could have only taken 3 wounds max out of him, instead you took four from the unit. Gahhh...


First point is a game-changer, second point not really, but I should have realised it.

Haha yea the first one gave me the win. If they were Fearless and the Captain died really uphill battle for me. Can you make me reroll my dice? I thought you only rerolled your own dice? I aint sure cause I don't have my rulebook with me.

Sorry, I just checked. Can't force you to re-roll armour saves. It's only my combatant... Ah well, re-roll to hit then

Had three awesome games over the weekend:

vs Paxter's Tau
Scouring. Hammer & Anvil Deployment
Pax had first turn, but I seized.
- Major mistake was trying to kill the broadsides in Turn 1. Should have targeted softer targets like Firewarriors or Pathfinders.
- 2nd major mistake was holding back my Raiders. Should have gone all out.
- Lost a Venom in retaliation. (His First Blood)
- Grotesques unit lost 6 models in a single turn of Tau shooting (!)
- Haemonculus Ancient died to overwhelming fire. (His Slay the Warlord)
- By the end of the Turn 5, I only had 10 warriors, 3 wracks and 1 trueborn, while Pax still had most of his army intact.
Horrifying loss to Tau.


vs Jaivin's Orks
Emperor's Will. Vanguard Strike Deployment
- I could afford to hold back as I outranged most of his Orks.
- Despite the amount of shots I dished out, he earned First Blood at the bottom of Turn 2 by killing a Venom.
- All my firepower took its toll and started to show at turn 3, when 1 battlewagon was destroyed, Killa Kans were torn apart by Talos, and Deff Dread shorted out from Scourge Haywire Blasters.
- Grotesques vs Nobz. I tried to take the Warboss out of the equation with a challenge, but the Painboy took the challenge instead, leaving the Warboss to tear thru the Grotesques. The fight finally ended with the Warboss fleeing from the Haemo Ancient, who killed the last two Nobz with two touches of the Flesh Gauntlet.
- By the end of the game, Jaivin only had the lone Warboss, while I had only lost 2 Talos, the Grotesques, a Haemo and a Venom.

vs Aiman's Chaos Space Marines
Emperor's Will. Hammer & Anvil deployment
- He had first turn but Night Fight was in effect, and he could not hit anything.
- Overwhelming Splinter shots killed 5 Havocs for First Blood, while 3 Dark Lances glanced (!) a Rhino to death...
- With my army advancing, Aiman's outflanking Ahriman and Deep-striking Sorcerer Lord attacked my back lines, threatening my objectives. Half my army had to turn around to deal with the threat.
- My opponent had really bad rolls, with Ahriman dying to a stray Dark Lance shot (with a 2+ cover save), his Sorcerer Lord turning Invisible then losing his last wound to Perils (so my army couldn't see him dying...), his Heldrake failing to do anything to my Razorwing even with Daemon-Forged on (rolled two 1's in a row), and a Rhino immo itself while trying to ram a Raider.
- By the end of the game, my opponent only had 3 Oblitz (1 wound each), and 2 Havocs, while I only lost 2 Talos, a Venom, 2 Raiders, and 6 Grotesques.

Sounds like an awesome weekend of gaming. I saw bits of your fight with Paxter's Tau. Looked really painful. I agree, vs Tau, priority targets are actually his markerlights - so Pathfinders I would kill first. Not so much to wipe out market light capability in Turn 1, but at least to bring it down to a more manageable level.

Also, just a thought - I find that my Vyper squadron tends to survive battles. And the only reason is because it's a squadron of 3. Is that something that would work with your Venoms? I noticed that your Venom gave away First Blood twice.

It's not only a dedicated transport, it's a damn good gunboat, giving 12 poisoned shots at an amazing range! Not to mention, obscenely cheap. I think all de players kinda accepted the reality that venoms r hot targets.
