forgot to mention my grotesques unit has the Rakarth upgrade that makes them all S6 base.



Yeah I know... friggin small kan... all cuz of the Grotesque unit... With Urien, that's a 40wound unit...


But I'm gonna be challenging characters with Urien and the Aberration - each dish out about 4 attacks that are poisoned and cause instant death. Not too shabby at all.

its not overly small, hey dann u want to buy some razorwing flocks? i am thinking getting them from FW the flying rippers can make 3 bases and is cheeper than GW actual gagak

i think i'm just gonna footslog this army. beyond that, i'm not too sure.

Biggest threats to my grotesques are dreadnoughts and vindicators - which i hope my seven haywire blasters will discourage and destroy

i read that grotesques are hard to kill, and can deal quite a bit of damage - and especially if i can take FnP even against lascannons hahaha


any thoughts about what else i can do?

I was looking through Forge World and I saw something called the Tantalus... Suddenly I found my answer to transporting a blob of Grotesques across the table!

Tantalus is pretty, and cool! has 2 pulse disintegrators which are S5, AP2 6 shots each so thats 12 shots, and D6 S7 AP2 or S7 2d6 pen when moving over something. and can move urm like 16 models

Since 6th ed came out, I was thinking of putting together Eldar and Dark Eldar in an unholy union. So I went a-concocting, and this is what I came up with.

Almost everything is jetbike or transported, save for the pathfinders, which I like to think are like advanced scouts. Maybe for theming purposes I'll swap all of them for Guardian Jetbikes!

Autrach joins the Shining Spears, Archon joins the Trueborn. I'll let the Jetbikes (DE and Eldar) run around causing havoc everywhere while the Venoms and Pathfinders harass units. Ravagers will handle armour of course, but both the Autrach and the Archon have anti-tank capabilities

But seriously, it's a refreshing new list. Last time I saw Shining Spears being played was in the 4th Ed. I like it, though it seems too light on troops and denial units. I wonder how are you going to stop the enemy from coming.

And like my DE, Flyers will be a major problem to this list. Why not trade one Ravager for a Fortification. A Bastion seems good for your Pathfinders. 2+ cover (Fortification+Stealth), plenty of firepoints (2 guys can fire from each) and Quad/Icarus could be handy for AA.

agree with AK, have another AA element in your army since now we are seeing a standard of 2 flyers in most lists.

Actually bladevanes and cluster caltrops only work on non-vehicle units. but in any case, perhaps i'll trade all three ravagers and some pathfinders for razorwing jetfighters.


it's a nice list, but i doubt i'll build it. too many lists in mind. I just wanted to put together the two armies into one theme and then move on. Maybe next I'll try a farseer/haemonculi list... hmm...

oh ya ho. forgot about that on the caltrops. too bad.

Try la taking 6 Haemonculi all with da weird de-sniper-rifle-watchamacallit. Then put all of them joining a Harlequins sqd.

Since the DE faction of Harlequins do not receive any changes in the DE FAQ, then they still follow the 'old' rules as in the codex. Meaning, enemy units that wish to shoot at them still have to roll 2d6 x 2 in order to see them.

So move 6", shoot 36", 4+ to-wound (on 6s for rending!), then make wound tests or be removed from the game!! You can even make precision shots due to sniper rules!

Come enemy shooting phase, they need to see your Haemon-quins first!
For back-up in case an enemy unit ventures too close for comfort, add-in da special-de-flamer for each Haemonculus. Eat 6 x S4 templates at APd6 (each to be rolled seperately - with 50% being AP3 or better!!)

Yup.. that is indeed nasty. Invisible Snipers in plain sight. What should we call it? Haemonstar?

The best part is if they are being charged, that enemy unit must 1st eat 6 x d3 S4 auto-hits at APd6!!

Unfortunately Diff, indirect fire doesn't work on DE Harlequin. U still need to roll 2d6 x 2 in order to track this unseen unit.

Tau SMS pun sama, still need to roll to track them.

So far, the only sure way to shoot them are:
1. Vibro cannon with the Harle unit as accidental target.

2. SW's JoTWW - target different unit with the Haemon-Quins in the way.

3. Other types of 'Beam' spells that can accidentally hit them.

4. Move until your unit is just 1" away from the Harle & shoot..


**Even if your whirlwind managed to hit the Haemon-Quins/ Haemon-Star, they still have FnP. Most likely the Haemonculi will take the wounding hits & roll FnP. Plus, they r Fearless.

If Eldar Farseer-ally joins the unit & cast Fortune, then he can take 1 wound & reroll failed sv. In addition, the Harlequins can also re-roll their failed saves cuz they are not DE per-se..In fact, all Harlequins are still considered as Eldar.
