I think u r right, Lan. My bad for thinking that the Conceal spell can be casted on other friendly units. Thus, no 2+ cover la...phew! That's good to hear.

Then, at 70pts, a barebone Autarch would fit the list nicely with his +1/-1 to reserves rolls ability.

Damn, if conceal works for serpents, all my guardian units will have a warlock Evil or Very Mad As it is, my jetbike squad w warlock and Farseer is bad enough already. Ya, Autarch is awesome to control when flyers come in

So far I can only come up a counter-Quek list with an Eldar list too i.e. fight fire with fire. But that won't be fun, so I'm thinking of merging Inquisition/GK with Eldar.

If cast onto the vehicle that he's in, then it's ok. Spells need LOS, since he can definitely 'see' the vehicle for being its passenger, then no problem.

The only restriction would be shooting/witchfire-type spells, as well as if he's targeting things outside the Falcon, cuz Grav-tanks don't have firepoints.

Not sure lah.. I read somewhere that you can't use psychic power or abilities if embarked on vehicles, can't use firepoints summore unless specified otherwise (witchfire). But I'm never good at psychic. Can anyone clarify?

Apparently that rule was from 5th ed. Currently Anrakyr's Mind In the Machine ability can be used while on his Command Barge. Same goes for Nemesor.

The restriction for psyker on transport is that they can only use witchfire on fire point. Spells that are not witchfire is not allowed to draw LOS from the fire point.

Then again if Blessing and Malediction spells do not require LOS. Somehow I believe this allow psykers in a transport casting on another unit in another transport. :O

@Joe : According to rulebook, all spells require LOS unless it is specifically mentioned that it doesn't require LOS.

So casting in transport is very much limited lah. Even Fire Points wouldn't help them except for Witch Fire.

And the other day he was in a jetbike squad whose warlock happened to have Protect ... 2+ armor save, with fortune. Another time, the warlock rolled conceal ... 3+ cover save, with fortune. That squad survived 3 full squads of grey hunters shooting them at close range ... Only two jetbikers died.

I fought one list with 2x6 Guardian Jetbikes. One with Protect and another with Conceal. Lucky they don't have Fortune. Even that time I had difficulty stopping them. Damn good troops! Summore got Fire Prism, Dark Reapers, Serpent and Warwalkers. It is difficult to focus fire when there's too many threat at once.

Looks like my plan to use Farseer to cast tripple Blessing spells to the Falcon while embarked on it is officially valid.

BRB page 67 under DECLARE TARGET states (pay attention to the parts where I've underlined & highlighted in blue):-

" If the psychic power requires a target, you must nominate it at this point. Unless stated otherwise, the Psyker must have line of sight to his target. This means that a Psyker embarked on a Transport can only target himself, his vehicle or another unit embarked on the same vehicle as the Psyker. Similarly, a Psyker outside a Transport cannot target a unit embarked within one."

Now, all that's left is to roll for the right spells i.e. Guide/Prescience, Fortune & Forewarning.

I have my own Fire Prism that I have assembled. Unfortunately, thanks to my 2-year old Aspiring Champion, it is now missing its Prism Cannon crystal that is supposed to be put in the middle of its barrel. The plastic frame-bit for the crystal is also gone.

So how can I salvage this model? Can I just cut/remove this part of the Prism Cannon barrel & thus making it shorter?

Will it still be tournament legal?

So far my Eldar Army is progressing slowly but steadily. I'm in the process of acquiring 3-4 crucial elements of my army, namely the Serpents & another Crimson Hunter. Hopefully i can get all of them by the end of September or October - just enough time to paint them up to minimum tournament standard.

My list is very simple and straight forward:-

Yesterday I had a great game at Hobby Forge, though I had to wait for more than 90 minutes b4 i can get an opponent due to everybody painting or playing a 40k RPG game.

I planned to use the list as above + borrowing some of Syamael's stuffs which I recalled he put on display at the store. Sadly, his models aren't there anymore..just to show how long I haven't been to the store gaming. Syamael also didn't reply my sms, so that plan had to be scrapped.

There are some Eldar stuffs there belonging to Khairul, but I don't dare to use them nicely painted models.

After pondering a while, I decided to improvised & just use the models that I brought with me. They were:-

HQ
1. Farseer - basic
2. Autarch - Fusion Gun

ELITES
1. 6 Firedragons - Exarch, Firepike, Fast Shots, Wave Serpent (standard config + Spirit Stone)

TROOPS
1. 5 Dire Avengers + Wave Serpent (std config + Spirit Stone)
2. 5 Dire Avengers

FAST ATTACKS
1. Crimson Hunter Exarch
2. Crimson Hunter
3. Vyper: 2 x Shuriken Cannons, Holofield, Spirit Stone

HEAVY SUPPORTS

My opponent was using his DE-Wych army led by Lelith Hesperax. His list was more or less as follows:-

-1 x 15-girls Wych sqd in FW Tantalus
-2 x 6 Trueborns in Venoms (no Blasters)
-1 x Ravager
-1 x FW Reaper

Mission: Scouring
Deployment: #3 (can't remember its name-the diagonal one)
Night Fighting: Turn 1 switched-off.
Game-Points: 1850pts (I played with 328pts handicap, but he didn't know that)
Warlord Traits: HIM (sorry dude, I didn't get your name) - ......Heck! I can't remember what he got!
ME: BRB Trait - Whole army gets Stealth.

Result:-
-DE won. He got 1st Blood, STW & Line Breaker + 4 pts worth of objectives. I got only a 1-pt objective.

Comments:-
1. I totally forgot how to play shooty Eldar properly. Instead of playing safely by shooting them from far away, I moved my units towards the enemy. My opponent capitalised & my skimmers ended up being charged by Wyches with Haywire grenades. What a rookie mistake.

2. His 1st turn shooting was crappy. I should have just deploy everything on the table instead of putting half of my non-compulsory reserve units into reserve. Due to very minimal shooting in my own 1st Turn, I didn't get 1st blood, which was very crucial.

3. As a domino effect from putting half nearly 75% of my army in reserve, I didn't have the necessary volume of firepower that I should have, resulting to his bikini-clad scoring units able to claim up to 3 objectives worth a total of 5pts. With the loss of Fireprism, Falcon, 1 Serpent & 1 unit of Dire Avengers upwards to turn 3, by Turn 5, its already too late for me.

4. Even though I was playing 328pts short, if I had play it correctly & didn't do the mistakes as mentioned above, I would have dominated the game. By putting 2 Serpents & the lone Vyper in reserves in addition to the 2 flyers, it was a tactical blunder in the making.

My flyers proved to me how awesome they are, managing to keep staying on the table from Turn 2 till Turn 5 vector dancing & wreaking havoc with non-stop 8 x S8 AP2 shots every turn.

The lone Vyper is ok, managed to survived the whole game unscathed. But it only gave minimal fire support. If I have at least another 1 & upgrade them with Scatter Laser, then this unit would be deadlier.

6. If we had gone to Turn 6, I might have a chance to win the game, especially since he had only 1 Raider left that can threaten my vehicles. His 3 Wych sqds were bz going to the ground to claim the objectives. I still have my 2 flyers, Vyper, 1 x D.Avenger sqd & its Serpent to shoot & contest/claim objectives. Alas, the game ended in Turn 5.

7. It was a really fun game with lots of laugh. I really learned a lot! Sadly I didn't get my opponent's name. His fully painted DE army is beautiful!!
