| Catamaran? I thought it's called Tantalus? Either way, that huge skimmer just kept chasing my units from his center deployment to my left table edge then going back to the centre of the table. It was then destroyed by my Firedragons.
On the other hand, the FW Reaper was more of a threat yesterday with its cannon. A single hit causing d3 haywire effects! Damn!!
When I went back & study the BRB Warlord Traits, it seems that in the future I'll just choose those from the Strategic Traits cuz 5 out of 6 traits would benefit my army the most, especially #1 => giving army wide Stealth!
Re-rolling failed reserves rolls is nice too, as well as cursing the opponent with -1 modifier to their reserve rolls. The redeployment trait is quite ok, but the one that affect outflanking units won't benefit me at all since I don't have any outflanking units.

| Izt? I thought the whole army gain Stealth, the in ruins part is for the Move Through Cover. I might be wrong. Need to re-read the trait again. | |

| Well, if you guys would take the time to refer to the rulebook, you would only get your stealth from the ruins, not stealth on it's own. | |

| It ensures all hits wounds successfully and can even work against vehicles. But I myself wouldn't bother with it on AV10 Flyers. | |

| I had 2 games yesterday. I edited my previous list when I fight against the DE as follows:- 1. Cheapo fusion-gun Autarch => Prince Yriel 2. Cheapo Farseer => Farseer with Singing Spear 3. 1 x Vyper with 2 x Shuriken Cannons => a sqdrn of 3 x Vypers with Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannons & Holofields (proxied 2 Vypers with L/Speeders) 4. Add another Fireprism to the list 5. 1522pts => 1845pts 1st Match: V/S BLee's Ultramarines
Mission: Purge The Aliens a.k.a. KP Game Deployment: Classic Pitch-Battle Warlord Traits: ME - 1st Turn Night Fighting; HIM - Can't remember Results:- - Ultramarines won by scoring 12-9 VPs (STW-2pts, 1st Blood-1pt, Linebreaker-1pt, 8 units/transports destroyed) - My Eldar managed to destroy only 9 units/transports Comments:- 1. From the get go, BLee's dice were on steroids. Seizing the initiative, he gained 1st Blood by destroying my Serpent & reducing my Vypers sqdrn to a single model with just 1HP. 2. My 1st Turn shooting were sub-par. Mostly either he succesfully made his cover svs or I failed to penetrate his AV. A shameful example would be my Firedragons' Wave Serpent - managed to get 6 x S7 ignore cover + 6 x S6 shots against his Razorback....& I failed every single armour penetration rolls against its measly AV11 !! 3. My saving grace were my 2 Crimson Hunters, and the Fireprisms. In this match, I tasted the awesomeness of the Fireprism for the very 1st time against enemy tanks. A single S9 AP1 Lance shot penetrated his LR, making a big KEBABO!!. The 2nd Prism did pretty well against his Predator, & it would have done better if not for BLee's insanely good 5+ cover sv rolls. The 2 jet fighters, as usual, contributed much to me & gave me a fighting chance in this game. Otherwise, it would have been a massacre for my army. The game was down to the wire with the Hunters targeting his Warlord & his Terminator-bodyguards. Alas, his Look-out-Sir rolls & 3++ svs were too awesome. I only destroyed the Termies, but his Warlord lived to fight another day. If I could destroy his Warlord, I'd gain +2VPs while he'd lose 1VP (Linebreaker), making it a tie. Well, I'll just try again next time. 2nd Match: V/S Shawn's SM-DA Allied ListMission: Purge The Aliens (...again, the aliens really being punked yesterday...) Deployment: Long table edge Warlord Traits: ME - enemy -1 to reserve rolls (useless against his army); HIM - Legendary Fighter Results:- - Eldar conceded at the end of Turn 4 with Shawn leading by a whooping 11-2 VPs. Comments:- - This was 1 of my worse game ever. Poor decision makings coupled with really really REALLY bad dice rolls - there was no saving grace for me this time. - The good thing from this game is that I learned (the hard way) that I needed a solid counter attacking cc unit in my list. I already felt this way in my previous games (against DE & BLee), & the game against Shawn convince me more about it. Suggestions/ options for cc unit(s):-
1. Avatar with Fast Shot & Disarming Strike - my 1st choice from the 1st day I held this new Eldar Codex. Great stats & good capabilities in both shooting & cc. 2. Wraithknight with Suncannon, Scatter Laser & Scattershield - except for its average WS, his stats are awesome. Awesome shooting offense against non-vehicles with descent cc capability. Very expensive though in both gaming pts & $. 3. Wraithlord with 2 Brightlances, 2 Flamers & a Ghostglaive - no invul sv making it not my preferred choice, but it is still quite descent. Work even better if I can take 2 or 3 of these in my army. 4. Allied DE Archon with Huskblade, Haywire Grenades, Combat Drugs, Soul-trap, Shadowfield - a potentially most awesome cc unit/model..nuff said. The downside is that he's not pure Eldar (though still bloodbrothers), and to make him reach the enemy line unhindered/unscathed is quite a task (being T3 is a sad huge issue). So, any other suggestions guys?

| Wow, mon keigh marines giving Eldar a hard time! Was surprised until I looked at your list again. The truth is, your list is very short of firepower. With your updated inclusion of the 3 Vypers, your firepower increased, but then it's still focused on a handful of units, which will get the enemy's attention very fast. The inclusion of one cc unit will not change the situation much. In fact, I arrived at my current list by removing my cc unit. Maybe when you go back to drawing board you might want to consider leveraging on Eldar strengths: speed (the ability to switch flanks, reposition your attack or your entire army, denying the enemy the use of large parts of his army), shuriken! (massed shuriken firepower is really magic), massed firepower (you've only got the Vypers and serpents, there's also spiders, reapers and simply lots of guardians/jetbikes/avengers). DE allies? Tak payah | |

| Purge the alien is not kind to de and eldar. Actually I just had a thought, where u just added the de just for the razorwing. Unfortunately that leaves u with 150+ pts which are compulsory but not necessarily useful. Same thing I went thru when I tried to add eldar to my de force. | |

| Well, to be fair, my opponents did capitalised their advantage of having the 1st turn shooting. Add the fact that when good luck is on the roll, one can just sit there and pray for it to end.
That is why it is imperative for my list to be able to go 1st, otherwise, things would get really tricky & almost assuredly go south real fast. I have to confess that I was just trying out a few units here & there following people's suggestion, but maybe I was playing them incorrectly relating to their poor results.
Anyway, I hope I'd receive my models within this week, else I'd have to make use of stuffs I don't like or those that didn't fit my style. I'd also try using an Avatar, Wraithlord & an Archon - just to test out their usefulness in my list cuz I still believe that some sort of cc element is needed in my list.

| With the arrival of the stuffs that I ordered last week, all preparations are now complete. I just need to paint my army & enjoy myself playing the stuffs that I have envisioned for several weeks now. Mon-keigh beware, my revenge is swift & deadly.

TROOPS 1. 5 Dire Avengers in Wave Serpent: T/L Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Holofield 2. 5 Dire Avengers in Wave Serpent: T/L Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Holofield 3. 5 Dire Avengers in Wave Serpent: T/L Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Holofield 4. 5 Dire Avengers in Wave Serpent: T/L Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Holofield

P.S: I'm thinking of swapping the t/l scatter lasers for the Serpents with t/l starcannons. Would that be better, or worse?
